Just back home after late Sunday lunch in the 1826. It was just perfect. Very mannerly, welcoming and attentive staff. Service was excellent and atmosphere so relaxing. We opted for the set lunch and it was gorgeous, treacle bread was so fresh and fish pie...was amazing ! Highly recommend the 1826More

Underwhelming Booked a table for 6 with VIP business guests. We were seated at a table clearly meant for 4 people max. A very cramped dining experience. Steaks were over cooked for all 3 people who ordered that. Disappointing and underwhelming to say the least.

Had dinner here last Sunday night and it certainly lived up to our expectations. Beautiful food, lovely, friendly staff and a nice buzz in the dining area. Really couldn’t fault it.

Located in a charming cottage the service in the restaurant was low key and very friendly. The menu notes that everyone must order a main dish so there are no split plates or ordering a couple of dishes from the starter menu. Had a perfectly...cooked delicious steak with fries others at the table had fish and chicken dishes equally enjoyed. The kitchen is small so the dishes are served at a leisurely pace. The desserts looked yummy as they were delivered to an adjacent table but alas we were to full to enjoy. The wine list was well priced for either a glass or bottle. The cottage is located in the town of Adare very close to the Adare manor town gate so it can easily be reached from the manor by short walk or a car offered by the ManorMore

We went to this excellent restaurant 3 times during our one week stay in Limerick because we were absolutely thrilled. The food is very creative and of the highest artisan perfection. All the dishes were always perfect, very tasty and beautifully presented. A beacon of...Irish hospitality at very reasonable prices. A really great restaurant, the best of our entire trip to Ireland.More

Cozy nice place. Waiter brought me wrong whiskey (I wanted to try one I had not had before but he bought me Red Breast 12yr and lots of ice). I had the monkfish chips (meh) and lamb (amazing!) and wife had Black sole on the...bone with tiny shrimp (brine?) and capers that was delicious and the goat cheese/beet root salad. We split a chocolate tart (amazing!).More

Truly lovely dining experience! Relaxed atmosphere & great attentive service from Maria. Appetizers were Monk fish scampi, French onion soup & goat cheese beet salad were all perfect! Also, brown bread with butter was nice! Main courses were steak cooked perfectly, short ribs & halibut...with mussels & clams. Dessert was coffees and chocolate tart. Best dinner we’ve had in Ireland!!! Highly recommend!!More

Disappointing. Very rushed. Untrained wait staff, intrusive, hovering, doing laps of the room. Staring constantly. Food: tiny crab starter. Big fuss when I asked for no mushrooms in bento box” we dont usually do this”,reiterated in the kitchen & I could hear it!!we have been a few times...but Elaine didnt acknowledge. The set menu is good value. The waiter pushed us repeatedly to order sides& more wine& took plates& cups too soon from the table. We will not be back,it was more relaxed in the past.More

Nice atmosphere and fireplace. My wife enjoyed the filet of sole and I had the braised beef. Both were exceptional. The service was excellent. The only reason for a four star and not a five is I was really looking forward to a draft Guinness....For some reason, they don’t serve Guinness.More

We went here to celebrate two 50th birthdays and we weren't disappointed. We couldn't book our preferred time online but they were responsive to an email and gave us our preferred time to accommodate our request. The food was incredible and the staff so helpful....The fact that every table was taken speaks volumes that it is definitely somewhere to eat if you are in the area.More

Let me start by saying we had reservations for over 6 months before our trip to Ireland and correspondence with restaurant was friendly and efficient. We had very high expectations and the food absolutely met them. However, from the moment we were seated we felt...rushed. We ordered drinks and before they came were asked if we wanted wine with dinner and hadn't decided on dinner yet! Once we ordered dinner, the wait staff wanted to pour the wine, and we asked her to wait. Once a sip of wine was taken, they tried to refill your glass and the waitstaff kind of patrolled the dining room. Both waitresses were operating like this. They were young and probably inexperienced, but someone is training them, so I'm not sure they weren't told to behave this way. Just overall the service felt very rushed and not welcoming. It's really too bad because the food was excellent, but in retrospect all we can focus on is the service.More

My fiance and I had the pleasure of dining at 1826 and we cant stop talking about how much we love this restaurant. For starters we had the beer battered monkfish scampi, heirloom tomato & mozzarella and for entrees we both had the braised short...rib. We finished our meal with the chocolate and walnut tart & eton mess. The tomato & mozz was SO fresh, the garlic chive aioli that the fish came with was so delicious and my goodness that braised short rib was the best i've ever had. It was cooked to absolute perfection and the sauce that it came with was SO rich and flavorful. I mean this meat was ridiculously tender, WOW! For dessert, the chocolate and walnut tart is a MUST have! The texture, the flavor and the ice cream were all spot on. Not too sweet and not bland at all, just perfect! I want some now just thinking about it. Lastly i cant end this review without mentioning the ambiance and customer service. The combination of the old cottage esthetic mixed with the warmth of the staff, was the cherry on top! They were so friendly and made us feel super welcomed the second we stepped foot in the place. We took the 25 minute trip from city centre Limerick for this meal and it was well worth it! Cant wait to come back <3More
