Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When one looks for the definition of a lovely Irish pub this is it. We popped in on a winters day and received a friendly greeting and seated at a comfortable table. Our dishes included fish and chips, Irish stew and chicken. All were delicious...after we all enjoyed a warm up Irish coffee. Appreciated that they offered half portions which were ample. A bustling spot.More

The place we were recommended decided they were not doing food on a saturday lunchtime so we headed further on and found this place. We had steak sandwiches which were really tasty and came with fries and 2 sauces. Really good but I always prefer...my steak sandwiches to be sliced steak rather than a slab of meat which can be chewy and hard to eat. They also had Guinness zero which is not always the case outside Dublin and this is good for the driver who still wants a lunchtime pint.More

Absolutely spectacular- we popped in here a little bit peckish so we had the BLT to share. It was the best sandwich we’ve ever had. The service was excellent and the staff were so friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

Was recommended by the place we had accommodations and it didn't disappoint. Had more of a pub feel than a restaurant but the entire family enjoyed. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I took a chance and got a cabbage/potato dish which was excellent. Staff was friendly...and attentive. Pretty good whiskey selection.More

Arrived in off the cuff seeking a table for two. Looked full but we were accommodated briskly. The attentive manner of all the staff especially Neil was exceptional. I even altered the menu which didn’t alter the speed of the service. Food was absolutely beautiful...especially the rhubarb and strawberry crumble. Yum!!! Coming from a tourist town like Killarney we were well impressed. Credit where it’s due.More

We went to this establishment on a recommendation from a friend, however our experience was very different and disappointing. We were initially happy they could take us as we didn't have a booking, we sat down at 6.10pm and were told we would need to...give back the table at 7 30pm. We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains and drinks. Food was served quickly but the food itself was very average with little taste or flavour. At 7.10pm we were asked if we were finishing up as the guests who had booked the table arrived. We said we thought we had the table until 7.30pm and she pointed to the reserved sign to say it says 7pm. I told her we were told 7.30pm. Felt very rushed and she asked to bring down the bill without an offer of desert, teas or coffees. We paid and left very unhappy, will not be going back!More

We visited friends in Adare and my wife and I came here one night for dinner. It is a comfortable pub, with a reasonably extensive menu with good choices. With first business getting some drinks, our service was quick and friendly. We started our dinner...with their Atlantic Seafood Chowder which turned out to be far the best we had over our 18 day holiday in Ireland and England. It was exceptional. Our entrees were Fish (cod) & Chips and a Pat Collins burger, both of which were very tastey. All in all it was a very good visit other than the end when our server unexplainedly disappeared and we waited for her return, but finally ended up having to walk up to the bar to close out our tab. We recommend Pat Collins Pub for a good dinner and a good time.More

It is a basic pub but what it does, it does very well. The food is traditional pub food, but excellent quality. The pub was always busy. The staff were friendly but the bar manager was absolutely the best I've met. We enjoyed the pub...so much we went back again the next day despite there being alternatives. He remembered us and had taken the trouble to come over to answer a query we had the previous night. Oh, and the coleslaw is the best I've ever tasted! This place should definitely be on your list to visit if you are in AdareMore

Stopped here for lunch recently and was not impressed. Decor is clean but dreary and dated. Toilets were in need of a good clear. Staff were efficient but did not interact with the customers in general. We ordered soup and BLT which were gorgeous. In...this instance the food was let down by the general air of “really couldn’t care less”More

We spent the first eve of our cycling holiday here getting fed & watered and chattin' :-) The pub itself is lovely & welcoming. My advice is to sit at the bar if you want to get chatting to locals. The Guinness is top notch,...the chowder is stunning (perfect level of creaminess, it's a fine line) and full of fish. Great spot 👌More
