Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ate at this restaurant 11 years ago and I thought it good. Now I think the atmosphere and the food is great. I The salad was really good. The fish was first rate! The owners see to it that everthing was prepared great. The...dessert, sticky pudding was the best I have ever had!. The sauces around it was unbelievable. This place is number 1 in the area in my opinionMore

Wife and I stopped here for dinner on our way back to Limerick. By the way, Adare is a beautiful Irish town worth visiting. Staff at the Blue Door were extremely friendly and very efficient. Wife had salmon, I had their hamburger and both were...very good. Dessert was fresh baked brownies with ice cream. Prices were comparable to dinner in Limerick. They also have a good wine and beer selection.More

The price of an apple pie slice was €7.50 and it was very small. We are in Killarney National Park a few days later and an apple pie slice was only €3.95. The blue door is price gouging. The apple pie didn’t have much flavour...eitherMore

We ate inside because of the rain but they had plenty of outdoor seating. Main courses were good, soup was so-so. Nice place for a group or couples.

Food average, no decent high hair, no baby changing facilities, kids menu! Waitress was helpful and friendly the other staff seemed to be unsure what they should be doing.

I thought for the price it was mediocre. I had the steak and my spouse had the scallops. Nothing to brag about. There no substitutes for anything it all an up charge. If you can’t eat certain foods too bad.

Definitely not!!Tomato and basil soup was obviously diluted with water. Three scallops which were priced at €29.00 served with dried potatoes. Overpriced and poor food. Don’t waste your time or money.

We didn’t realize many restaurants close fairly early in Ireland, so we arrived 10 minutes before closing for dinner after attending mass across the street. Almost didn’t get in, but the lovely lady manager welcomed us. Small quaint little restaurant that is not to be...missed if you’re in Adare. And OMG the food and service was outstanding. We ordered fish and chips and a shrimp cocktail. And the Irish coffee delicious. Thank you so much for squeezing us in at the last minute.More
