It was nice to be back in Adare again staying at the Dunraven Arms and able to visit and dine just across the road in the traditionally thatched and cosy Wild Geese restaurant. The ambience is old world, warm and welcoming, Julie, the proprietress is...most hospitable, welcoming and attentive and when her time allows is a joy to chat to. Our meal at the Wlld Geese is delicious. My companion had Hake and I opted for the Venison, both portions were generous and handsomely garnished and presented. All food is sourced locally, the fish fresh from the Atlantic, meat, vegetables and fruit from local farmers. All meals are prepared by award winning Chef David. If staying in Adare, The Wild Geese is a must visit. In view of Covid19 advance booking is recommended. Julie and David have the tables well spaced to allows for intimacy and social distancing. There is an early-bird menu sitting and a later dinner sitting. We are looking forward to early 2021 and out next visitMore

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you are in or passing through Adare. The food is delicious particularly the fish dishes which were excellent. The service is also fantastic. Julie is a wonderful host who somehow managed to be quick and efficient with...our order as well as finding the time to chat to us. The only downside to the restaurant is that although it has a lovely cozy traditional feel there are one or two improvements which would make for a more comfortable meal. In some places the carpet was coming lose and some of the chairs seemed quite dated and a bit uncomfortable. It's hard to strike the right balance between traditional and rustic though and it was still a 5 star experience.More

Stayed in Dunraven Arms which has fabulous food. The wild Geese is literally across the road so visited for a change of venue. The food in the Wlld Geese is absolutely gorgeous. Really surprised with the very good portion size. Just had starter and main...course and both X 2 were so tasty. Not surprised it has won many awards. Highly recommend d a visit. Tables really well spaced to allow for social distancing. Restaurant does 2 sittings and would recommend booking either an early or a later meal to allow restaurant 2 sittings per table as they are already operating at about half capacity due to Covid i.e don't book in between times such as 7pm and straddle both seatings.More

We were looking forward to eating at this restaurant. There was a group of 5 of us all adults. The inside is in need a some tlc wallpaper peeling in some areas and around our table the carpet was sticky. We all had starters and...mains and the starters were nice. For ty he mains however i had duck and 2 had steak. My duck was cooked ok but the fat hadnt been rendered down and both steaks were a bit tough and very fatty. Not a perfect meal and was so looking forward to dining here.More

Julie and David surpassed our expectations. The warm asparagus and pear salad, the crab and smoked salmon starters were exquisit. Special dietary needs were facilitated with ease. We both enjoyed very generous portions of beautifully presented cod which was truly delicious. Already established customers, we...will return.More

Lovely spot and lovely food. When we arrived we were taken into a sitting room with sofas and a real fire. All very traditional.
