Some reviews here criticise the service. On one I inadvertently gave a thumbs up intending the opposite (take note TripAdvisor... thumbs down for BS reviews would be a good feature add). Did not eat at the Oarsman - stopped in for a drink. Food looked great and my wife and I regretted that we had eaten recently (will come back... More

A few days before our visit to Carrick, we emailed the lovely Jacinta to see if they could sit the gang of us for a 30th birthday. There was no major issue. We were offered the set menu to review before we arrived. They were very accommodating for the large number of us (17), and the food was both delicious... More

This was not my first visit to the The Oarsman and certainly won't be the last. The food here is simply spectacular. Chicken wings cooked to perfection. I read that the meat for the burgers are carefully selected and you can tell the difference. Not the cheapest place to eat but IMO well worth it. Can't recommend this place enough.... More

The bar was packed and as we hadn't booked we couldn't get a seat however we were accommodated at the bar. The food was beautiful, and I'd highly recommend the quails breast. Also the pre meal homemade bread was some of the best I have tasted. Staff were very helpful and professional also.

lunch/dinner for two. beautifully presented and tasty food. i had the vegetarian which was a delight of flavours and textures. my companion had the trout on a bed of chickpeas. all was glorious, but served with no potatoes (in an Irish pub!). there was also a wonderful selection of local and other craft beers. two mains, two drinks ~€30, reasonable.

Perfect venue for drop in off the street lunch. Comfortable surroundings with fire going. Have been here many times and enjoyed bar lunch and evening meal upstairs for occasions. Service is excellent and food of the highest quality. Environment very hygenic and Staff presented very clean & tidy. Toilets cleaned regularly and presentable. From the specials menu I ordered a... The food and service were of the highest quality here. There was a small mix up with our booking and arrival time but we were accommodated with minimum fuss. The substantial starters were delicious but weren't too heavy that we couldn't enjoy our mains. The mains themselves were really hearty and the servings were very generous ensuring that we did... This place feels right - ambiance of a pub with top quality food : I can't fault it really : Each day the lunch specials are different and always excel - of an evening there's background easy listening live music : it's always busy and hard to get a seat sometimes - which is a good sign !

This is a great place for lunch or dinner. The food is fantastic. We ate our Thanksgiving dinner here. I held their fish chowder and it was so good, warm and tasty. Perfect place!
