Missed the Oarsman for so long. Booked for a Dinner Party 26th March. Several could not attend due to COVID, but 10 was our final number. All had looked at menu on Oarsman Website. Steak, Fish, Pork belly, curry all from menu were just fantastic....Everyone relished with pure delight their chosen main course. Deserts were absolute bliss. Our thanks and regards to the Chef and the staff. Jacinta was absolute professional and lovely. My guests were taken back when the till receipt also included a hand written 10% charge for tables of 6 and over, costing us €30... We had given a tip but it was then retracted to pay the charge. We are all suffering from the financial blow out of the past 2 years. I believe this added cost to be unjust in respect of the customers who support any business. I feel personally it lets the OARSMAN down, disrespecting the amazing efforts and artistry of the staff. This added 10% Cost is not quoted in Menu costs online.More

We had a fantastic meal and experience in the Oarsman. The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. They were fantastically accommodating with one of our group who was a celiac. I would like to particularly commend Jacinta who I was in contact with...over the booking. We were a large group and had a good few people dropping out due to covid running up to the booking. Jacinta was so nice to deal with, hugely accommodating and an outstanding professional and host. I would highly recommend booking a table in the Oarsman for some phenomenal food and outstanding service. Go raibh míle maith agaibh!More

This was one of the best if not THE best restaurant experience we have ever had. From the minute we stepped into the oarsman, Tracey greeted us and looked after us for our meal, she was so helpful, friendly and nothing was a problem. The...chicken wings starter was the best wings we have ever had, we even licked the bowl!! There was great options for the mains the chicken burger was delicious with the most gorgeous sauce. The fish and chips was not just your run of the mill fish and chips, the mushy peas were so tasty and the fries were gorgeous and a tartar sauce. Lovely deserts and nice coffee. We found the prices very reasonable, for this level of service and high quality food. Looking forward to visiting againMore

Went last Saturday with some friends from Dublin after a Covid induced gap of nearly a year. Such hospitality from Jacinta, Mike, Vinny and the team. We were welcomed back like old friends. And the food! Utterly superb. I had scallops and fish cakes to...start and Andarl pork belly for main. Incredible ingredients all perfectly cooked. Have uploaded photos, they tasted as good as they looked. We all had a wonderful time and look forward to going back to what is certainly now the finest restaurant in CarrickMore

Been a while since we visited the Oarsman and happy to report that it is as good as ever. The place is so cosy and oozes character and charm. The staff are always very warm and welcoming. Could listen to their resident guitarist all night...with his own interpretation of music. The food is as good if not better if I can remember from before and offers great value for the quality on offer. Won't be as long until my next visit.More

Hi Brendan, Thanks very much for giving us your feedback. You are right, it should have had a bit of caramelization and crisp. The standard is we sous-vide the belly, then pan fry, oven bake for a little and then before... More

Yes you should go upstairs. there is two sections one over the bar, it has wooden floors and a little noisy. it would be better to get the the area at the side of the stairs for the group. Enjoy.
