Sat at the bar ordered a drink with a view to looking at the menu, half hour later the drink had not arrived, left and went to the chip shop across the road.

Yes you should go upstairs. there is two sections one over the bar, it has wooden floors and a little noisy. it would be better to get the the area at the side of the stairs for the group. Enjoy.
