Leona's has been well set up for the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Tables are well spaced, Screens and hand sanitizer put in place to provide protection for staff and customers alike.
Upon arrival we recieved a warm welcome to the cafe by our waitress, there was a small wait (1-2mins) to be seated as our table and chairs were well cleaned down and sanitized prior to us taking our seats.
There service here is friendly and efficient. Unfortunately I did not catch our servers name but she was excellent, a welcome tonic after a terrible experience just prior in another establishment within Kinsale.
We were just looking for a small bite to eat so we each had a couple of sausages rolls with black pudding, some tea and coffee. The food was lovely, very tasty and hit the spot nicely.
Will definitely make sure to drop by Leona's again on my next visit to Kinsale.

I took a work group of 25 people to Leona’s on Nine Market St. We more or less booked out the restaurant.
Everyone was delighted, the food was fantastic.
We had a great night and the staff were so friendly and welcoming.
Excellent food & wine and top class service.

Had a family meal at Leona’s this afternoon the staff were extremely polite and accommodating , food was delicious hats off to the chef we cleared our plates ! There was plenty of choice on the menu as well as additional specials . The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable I would highly recommend if visiting Kinsale. Will definitely be returning thank you to all at Leonas on Nine Market Street! ☺️

The proprietor of a gallery alerted us to Kinsale being a fringe venue for a jazz festival centred on Cork. When we stopped for coffee at Leona’s cafe and accommodation, the proprietor already appeared to be struggling to manage the demands; breakfast obviously had been busy, and now it was approaching lunchtime. We were intrigued by her requests to several people to change their tables, and one table left without ordering. But the coffee was okay, although she expected we would order Americano.

While wandering around Kinsale in the off-season month of January, our group of three stopped into Leona’s simply because it was open while many other eateries were closed for the season - and glad we did! We had dinner plans and didn’t want to overeat so we ended up sharing a few dishes and everything we ordered was freshly prepared and flavorful. Service was also friendly and helpful. All in all an enjoyable experience. I would recommend Leona’s to anyone visiting Kinsale and would definitely stop by again if I’m lucky enough to return to this charming town.

Had lunch here today. From the outset, service was excellent. Very clear in terms of covid requirements, but in a very friendly way. I’m a vegetarian and was so delighted to see such an extensive range of meals that I could eat. My boyfriend is not a vegetarian and he also had lots of choice. Topped off by excellent wine and good distance between us and other diners, I found this a lovely place to dine. I’m not sure who served us, but she was an excellent. I thoroughly recommend and will return.

We had lunch here and the food was just gorgeous. We had the falafel pitta and cauliflower base pizza, both really fresh and tasty. Great value too. And we were allowed to bring our dog inside which is a welcome plus! Will definitely be back soon.

I stayed at Nine Market street just recently for 4 nights as was attending my niece's wedding . Kinsale was totally booked out and there was no room where my family were staying . Well I hit the jackpot as I got a double which was so light and spacious with everything I needed and more as I asked for an iron which was no bother at all . Leona the owner was very welcoming and helpful , nothing too much trouble . The best thing was it was such good value for money compared to places my family where staying . My room was much bigger and half of what they were paying . Would totally recommend Nine market street . I didn’t eat there but could see it was always full and food looked delicious and home cooked .

Excellent food and service.
The staff were very Covid conscious and super protective of customers and other staff. We had lunch here including the chicken wings and waging burger. Really excellent. Nice wine selection also. We will be returning.

Visited a number of times this summer. Enjoyed the breakfast buritto and the chicken sandwich both of which were excellent. French fries were very good. One small blemish was the ham in the the ham and cheese sandwich, which was a little tough and stringy in parts. Service was very good as it was very busy. Always like going here for a bite to eat.

We stopped here spontaneously and were very lucky that we got a table for 5.
We were served very quickly and extremely friendly and even the vegetarians among us were quickly found. There was also a great day ticket.
The food was phenomenal; it was generous portions, super served and decidedly delicious. We would always like to go here

We spent a night here while in Kinsale. Leona was prompt and accessible since our reservation inquiry, and we enjoyed a comfortable and quiet stay in one of the double rooms available. This is, of course, a popular restaurant but with its central position and great hospitality, offers a good option to stay as well.

I have had the great pleasure of staying at Nine Market St on numerous occasions over recent months. Excellent location and very comfortable and clean accommodation - a fab please to stay right in the heart of Kinsale. Leona, Sonya and all the team are lovely and are always so helpful and with a warm welcome too.

The food here is always top notch lovely staff who some how remember you despite how busy they are. Top tip... the dressing put on the salad is phenomenal. I would literally drink it. They sell it ... get extra to bring home !!

Came between Christmas and New Years with friends. Four of us ate and all were very impressed with the food. Looks more like a coffee shop from outside but is so much more. Portion sizes were good also.
