Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sadly disappointed in the quality of the food compared to years gone by. The beef sandwich (€15.50) was lamentable (plate half filled with nachos, very small and tasteless sandwich), and the burger was underwhelming. Don't usually write these reviews, but feel motivated to do so...in this case. Atmosphere, staff, view, are great, so hopefully the menu can continue to evolve back towards something more fitting with the setting.More

Disappointing. Presentation was good, but that's where it stopped. 3 of us had fish and chips. The fish was dry and tasteless. The chips were like oven chips, dry and inedible. Tasted like cardboard. I understand why the prices are high with the increase in...food prices, but I expected better quality food and real potato chips. Won't be going there again.More

We both had chowder today (august 28th) and have spent the entire evening throwing up and everything else that comes with horrendous food poisoning. If you had the chowder today, you’ll be reading this review with the same problem we have. Completely wrote our Monday...evening off, and I have no idea how we’ll be able to go to work tomorrow. I’ll be reporting this to the local authority because it 100% came from that chowderMore

We ate here several times during our recent stay. Super food salad at lunch was really good. Hake was quite a generous portion. However, big shout out for the Tiger prawns on the starters, absolutely divine. We overhead a diner at an adjacent table being...equally complimentary. Medallions of beef were delicious too. Try their Albarino, cool & crisp. And the Kinsale Pale Ale? Amazing. Lovely to sit outside in the sun at lunchtime, the "wind wall" is a great idea.More

My partner and I had lunch at the Dunes yesterday. The overpriced burgers we were served (18 euros each) made us sick. She had the common sense to send back hers to be cooked more and she still felt sick. I, on the other hand,...had to call in sick from work for ferocious cramps. Never again.More

Stopped off on our trip around county Cork. Just up the road from Clonakilty. Excellent service and wide choice. We had soup of the day and I opted for the seafood chowder. Never have I had a chowder on this level. We will definitely come...back again. But they have set my new standard quite high.More

A very enjoyable family meal at a great location. The menu was predominantly seafood, very well presented and of good quality. The portions were generous and the service of a high standard. The food was good value for money. A very pleasant evening overall and...very suitable for family groupsMore

We were a family group of four looking for lunch. This restaurant had outdoor seating as well as indoors. We settled for the latter. I was impressed with the number of staff attending. We all chose starters for our meal, ranging from broccoli soup, chowder...served with soda bread and crab claws with garlic dip. All were excellent and the crab had been removed from its shell. I was impressed. Only negative was an Irish coffee requested was not prepared correctly and the cream leached into the coffee rather than floating on top. However the restaurant is situated in a brilliant location on the coast and adjoining a luxury hotel. Ideal lunch spot.More

We had lunch and dinner here during our stay at the hotel. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the beef burger, vegan burger and children’s pasta. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our only criticism was that service was pretty slow...during lunch, despite the fact that there was a lot of staff and it wasn’t very busy on the day. We would happily dine in the restaurant on our next visit to Inchydoney.More

Below expectations set from many years of previous visits. Portion size of Chicken curry at 22€ was small and tasted very bland.

We had dinner in the Dunes bar and we were very disappointed with the quality of the food especially as it was quite expensive. The medallions of beef were €26 , beef quite nice but was served with just a couple of roasted carrots and...mash. The chicken wings were very jelly like so could definitely improve on them. The crab claws were quite dry, I think they were frozen and not fresh. We had much better and cheaper meals elsewhere so we were quite disappointed, especially as it is such a beautiful hotel. Hopefully it will improve in the future.More

We enjoyed a late lunch in The Dunes during Easter and were all pleased with our choices. We had delicious Fish & Chips, West Cork Burger, Oven Baked Smoked Salmon and Tiger Prawns as mains. All meals were tasty with ample servings from friendly staff....We got coffees and of course some Banoffee Pie and Profiteroles and Oreo Cheesecake. We really had an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon. We look forward to returning soon.More

We were sadly disappointed wirh the food here. Chowder was oily, salad had far too much dressing and the crab claws were dry.
