Having completed the parkrun the RD recommended the on site restaurant, good call, it’s excellent. Varied menu, all appealing, my wife had a bacon and sausage sandwich, I their signature breakfast, a coffee each for 31€. The food was first rate and worth every cent....Great atmosphere.More

Had coffee and scones here recently. Quality has gone downhill since my last visit and very expensive. €4.35 for a cappuccino is very steep at a cafe with no table service. Scone was dry and hard. Avoca used to have great, homemade food. It seems...to have sadly lost that.More

Went out for a nice lunch in malahide and decided on avoca as we’ve been many times before. They’ve reduced the size of their portions but still the same price. Had a wrap for 7.95 it’s gone from a large to a small/ medium with...no garnish, sausage roll more pastry than meat and a side of fries that cost 5.20 which arrived nearly 20 minutes after I ordered them so unless you want hot chips and cold coffee & a cold wrap plus cold sausage roll you’ve no choice but to start without them. I definitely won’t be back it’s been going downhill ever since they sold to a larger American company. €24.75 for 2 people including a tea & coffee is definitely overpriced for what we got. Do yourself a favour get a nice coffee & sandwich in a nice takeaway and enjoy it in the castle gardens.More

Always like a Avoca. They have a good selection of food from snacks to meals and at a range of prices. The food is always a little different from the usual fare and always enjoyable. Maybe a little on the pricey end but a nice...treat.More

Shocking service & food today at Avoca. Scrambled egg was cold & the toast was burnt. How a chef or waitress could serve black toast to a customer is beyond any of us sitting at the table. Queued then to get a scone & the...lady server behind the counter was all over the place. I stood their for a good 20 mins waiting for my ordered scone that was literally in the showcase. She flapped about serving fruit salads & scones to the ladies behind me. When I finally got my tea and scone, the server handed me my scone on a plate with no jam, butter, cream and no milk!!!! Odd odd odd. None of us will be going back any time soon.More

Great food, but overpriced as always. But what a messy queueing system, go up pay and then stand in the middle of the space to collect a coffee ie cross back past others queuing at the till. All hot food and cakes etc past the...till, so back and forth to see anything. Hardly worth the effort,More

Usually frequent the Belfast store however we were visiting Malahide Castle and popped into Avoca to get a take-away lunch to picnic with in the grounds. I love the products in Avoca and will happily pay the extra for good quality however I do think...the standard of service wasn't up to scratch. Purchasing heated sausage rolls for example. and asking for ketchup was met with a "Our cafe is closed?" puzzled reply. Aware that the cafe was closed due to covid 19 however I think providing sachets of sauce when selling takeaway sausage rolls and pasty's and things in the food hall wouldn't be a massive stretch of the imagination. Especially at €4.50 a sausage roll or whatever. Felt I was "annoying" the person at the till and just miserable service throughout order. Fine at McDonalds but not in Avoca.More

No, I don't think they take reservations but as others have said its quite a large restaurant & I would just advise to maybe go in a little early, that's what we did & it was well worth it! Enjoy!!

They always have a few coeliac options, one soup is always coeliac friendly and they generally can make up any sandwiches on gluten free bread. They have lots of cakes and sweet treats for coeliacs too! Just ask the staff
