Arrived at the door, no one there to seat us then a most rude male member of staff (unmasked) arrived. He can only be described as a disgrace to the hospitality industry. Based on this individuals attitude, we declined to stay for a meal and...a drink.More

Dear Compass8089. People leaving false bad reviews on Tripadvisor really is so childish. Please email me at info@fowlerspubs.ie I would love to find out your meaning for such a review. Regards, Derek Fowler.

Sat outside for some drinks and food. A lovely quaint street with lots of hustle and bustle. I had a quick look inside and the premises looks really well so expectations were high! Unfortunately the food was average and service was very slow . It...was difficult to gain attention to place an order. I had heard great reports on Fowlers and read some lovely reviews and it is a great spot to sit outside so will definitely try there againMore

Trying to support local during these exceptional times and working in the hospitality trade myself I know first-hand the challenges our industry is facing and I like to see how other businesses are coping. On a normal day this is a fine pub. Nice spacious, open...premises with good pints and grand food. However I was more than disappointed at our Covid experience. Unfriendly welcome by a security guard at the door who was not behind a screen or wearing a mask, despite meeting every person that walks into that building. We entered Fowlers without a booking - and started to regret it as the place was PACKED! We rambled around the front area expecting to be greeted by a member of staff to give our details, assign our table and make sure we sanitized our hands like EVERY other responsible business is doing. The staff were clearly overwhelmed with the amount of people they were trying to look after. We eventually had to approach the barman to ask what to do next. He pointed to a lady who I assumed was a manager/ supervisor who managed to grab us a table almost immediately which was great. The barmen are behind screens but none of the floor staff were wearing masks. Unfortunately after working in the industry for soo long you get attracted to watching the movements and operations of the staff. I watched staff go table to table without wearing masks and without washing hands. I can only assume they washed hands in the kitchen. We commented this to our young waiter who didn't respond and hurried off to his next table. We felt increasingly uncomfortable and left. Very disappointing to report that Fowlers are operating the poorest standard of Covid measures in Malahide.   We arrived approx 8pm on September 12th.More

Visited Fowler’s for lunch on the 11th September and noticed despite the guidelines none of the staff were wearing masks and openly serving people without any barrier in between. I raised it with the barman and he appeared very uncomfortable but acknowledged my complaint. He...went to get our drinks and came back to serve them to us still without a mask. At this point we chose to leave. It is little wonder that Dublin is now again under pressure due to the rising number of cases when you see supposedly responsible business people treating public health with such a couldn’t care less attitude. We moved across the road to gibneys and had a totally different experience. They obviously care about their customers unlike Fowler’s. Their attitude and service is clearly fowl.More

How dare you right such a review. All our staff have passed the Fáilte Ireland Covid safety charter and we are 100% complying with the rules set. Your review is a bullying vicious attack at my business and I have reported your review.

Pleasantly surprised on our first covid pub trip! The staff were very helpful, food was fab and great space in the bar. The only issue I'd have is encouraging ppl to wear masks when walking around. Apart from that I very impressed. Hopefully will be...back next week 😀More

Myself and friends popped into Fowler's yesterday as we were all home from various far flung corners of the world and the country for Christmas. As one time locals and now annual returning home birds, we usually meet in the old Tommy Guns restaurant in...Smyths as Fowlers was once known. This time we got caught out badly. They stop serving food at 6pm! What on Earth are they doing? This used to be a go to place for pub grub in Malahide. 6pm? On a Saturday? The world's gone mad. We stayed for a pint gazing around with what should have been nostalgia but was instead bewilderment and disappointment.More
