Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We visited this restaurant on a whim recently and loved it. We had been aware of it but never tried it out. They were able to accommodate us at short notice and we enjoyed the early bird menu which is great value. Unlike most early bird menus, there was plenty of variety on this one. So much so that if I happened to be back there again, I could easily choose completely different options.
I had Caesar salad, seafood linguine, and meringues. All were excellent. My wife had goat’s cheese, chicken, and cheesecake. Again all delicious.
The room is a bit tight and was full on a Tuesday night, but even though the staff were very busy, they were so helpful and welcoming. Overall a lovely experience and one we hope to repeat.

A Tuesday midweek date for my partner & me. Time for a trip to one of our favourite restaurants. We were welcomed by our host Joe Kenny and his able staff Mags and Dylan others were all busy with the full restaurant. C. had her usual order, fillet of sirloin with chunky fries and crispy fried onions dipped in special batter. Special starter was cod taco, which decided the theme for my meal. Ample starter with delicious cod, avocado salsa and home made taco sauce on a tortilla. Pan fried cod for main course cooked delicately accompanied by dauphinois potatoes. Deliciousness beyond compare. C. savoured every morsel of the beautifully cooked fillet steak and accompanying sides, an achievement in itself. I had seasonal strawberries with cream for dessert. Washed down with Albariño from Rías Baixas by the glass, C’s preferred pairing, while I started with tea and finished with an americano. Wonderful cooking and excellent ingredients put together with care. €118 including service. Come and savour!

We arrived without a booking at 5.40pm and were told they were fully booked from 6.45pm. We said we'd be done before then and the staff were kind enough to find us a table. Throughout our meal we were never rushed by the staff and the food was delivered without us needing to hurry. The quality of the meal was superb. We had the early bird 3 courses for 29 euros. The chicken wings and the brie starters were excellent and the seafood linguini and steak main courses were perfectly cooked. We finished with ice cream and left very satisfied. Anyone visiting Malahide would be making the right decision to eat here.

We walked in and were given a table for 2 at 4.30 on what was a busy afternoon early evening - book early is advised.
Chowder and deep fried brie were our choices for starters, both were lovely and very healthy portions. Mains were salmon and Jambalaya and did not disappoint. The Jambalaya gets a special mention for being nice and spicy and very filling - go easy on the starters if you choose this. The House Merlot was very easily drunk and all in all no hesitation recommending this establishment.
Staff were friendly and very helpful fitting us in. 5 stars

My wife and I came here for dinner during an overnight stay in Malahide. we shared the breaded mushrooms served with a garlic mayonnaise: the dish was beautifully presented and very moreish.
My wife had the seafood linguini with prawns, smoked cod and mussels in a creamy sauce. The pasta was slightly al dente which made it slightly awkward to wrap around the fork but was delicious. I had the Jambalaya with chicken, chorizo, prawns and peppers in a creamy tomato sauce with basmati rice which was nicely spicy but not overpowering. Both dishes had plenty of seafood.
The excellent 4 Sisters Chardonnay had enough body to complement both dishes. The pecan nut meringue with nuts and caramel sauce was absolutely yummy.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive with a bit of banter. When I asked for a spoon to share my wife's dessert, they brought me the smallest spoon I've ever seen (which they replaced with a normal spoon once we'd shared a good laugh).
Highly recommended.

I dined here on Sun Jan 30 with my wife and overall we were impressed by almost all aspects of the experience. The quality of food, the attentiveness of the staff, the layout of tables and adherence to Covid protocols were all excellent as was the value for money from the early bird menu. It was our 1st time dining here and most certainly will not be our last. While not an issue for us the only issue we could find was around disabled accessibility. The stairs would not be navigatable for a person with even moderate disability. If this was called out in the website I missed it.

Top class food and service, as always. My husband and I had prawns for starter. We enjoyed mopping up the garlic sauce with bread and butter! My husband chose steak for his main course and it was perfectly cooked. My salmon was excellent. We'll be back soon for another delicious, great value meal. Thank you to the chef and all the staff. Our first time to Sale Pepe for years and we loved it. Really excellent service and quality of food was top notch. Lovely to visit a restaurant with ‘normal’ food.
There were four of us and started with classic prawn cocktail special, chicken wings, breaded mushrooms & deep fried Brie. All were very tasty & devoured. For mains two of us had steak which was cooked perfectly, the other two had the seabass special which was also excellent. Finished off with a warm apple crumble. A lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff. Will definitely go back soon.

Specialised in seafood and steaks, they offer right at the heart of the coastal village of Malahide a very friendly service and a relaxed cosy ambiance.
After going there quite a few times already, I can best describe them as a restaurant that carries tradition with proud, where nothing is too much trouble – besides of having a fair price range for the quality offered of food and drinks.
In our last visit – the first after the reopening – they made sure to demonstrate how they kept up with the great service after lockdown.. everything was spotless.
One of their main peculiarities is the popular ‘Daily Specials Board’ which presents a different and seasonal option to its guests. The only difference now is that the board is placed in front of us at the table instead of being hanged off the ceiling.
Well done, guys in the reopening and sending out love to Louise who always have a smile for us in our arrival and makes sure everything runs smoothly throughout our dinner!

We booked this restaurant based on customer feedback and weren't disappointed. The food was so good I had the jambalaya and it was excellent. My wife the red shrimp scampi which was done in a tempura batter which was so light. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Service was very very good and the owner a class act as good an ambassador for Irish hospitality as you could ever hope for. Our group number changed from 4 to 7 and at the last minute we asked if we could bring forward our booking by 30mins – no problem was the answer. Super meal with even better service.

Booked a table last minute and absolutely delighted with the early bird menu,
Delicious food, great service and value and stand out detail is Louise and her ability to manage a very busy restaurant with a great balance of service and attention to detail. Making recommendations to a very fussy diner. Thank you, will definitely be back

First time trying this little restaurant and they did not disappoint from start to finish. Our server Louise went above and beyond with the help of the chef of course for my self when I advised them of my dairy intolerance. Prawns where amazing. Excellent service, food was outstanding and we will be returning soon. Thank you so much.

I had dinner in Sale et Pepe this evening with four female friends. We chose the early bird menu. There was an excellent selection of starters, main course and dessert and was great value for money at €27 for three courses. We had a good French Savignon Blanc with our meal (cost €22). The restaurant is lovely and the staff were friendly and very efficient. Overall, I would highly recommend Sale et Pepe as the best place to eat in Malahide.

A beautiful meal had by all. I normally go for fish when I eat here but decided to go for slow cooked rib of beef and it was divine. Food was 5 Star. Staff attentive and efficient as always. Definitely best restaurant in Malahide.
