Went for a post "lockdown2" meal and drinks.
Understandably the drinks have increased in price it was a pleasure to get a real pint of plain and have a bite to eat.
I had the steak and chips which for €20 is a steal. The...other three meals were equally tasty and excellent value.More
Gibneys-Powerhouse has their operation down to a T.
Lots of nooks and crannies to hideaway.
Always busy especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
Food and service is good.
Avoid if you don't like a busy, loud pub atmosphere.
Also doing a good job maintaining Covid measures....We felt safe.More
I had a cod with chips. The fish was very greasy and bland, no taste at all (but the oil). It had an odd consistency, with a rubbery part in the middle, and a lot of water at the same time. Would not recommend.
Dined outside due to covid-19 restrictions and was happy with the food. Initially we were told we could only order from the sandwich menu despite the table beside us having hot food. Another waiter visited our table and was very helpful and happily gave us...the bar menu. Unfortunately I do not know his name however he was very mannerly and gave excellent service.More
Had a meal in Gibneys today.. my husband had fish and chips which he said was very nice. I had a rib eye steak and asked for medium to well done. It was overdone.. most of it was fat and it was really tough. I...said it to person taking my plate but he never came back to me so we just left.More
Being in Gibneys a few times since it reopened, covid measures well implemented and the usual quality food and drinks. Best wings around. Actually I’m going to head down for some of them for lunch 👍
Popped in for a small bite to eat and chose to have the house salad. I asked the waitress what was in it and she guessed on the ingredients and dressing. She said she can put the dressing on the side, which was great as...I don't like much.
Unfortunately it turned up with bacon in it (which i don't eat and wasn't informed of) and covered in ALOT of dressing, rather than on the side.
Please could staff know what is in the menu choices as this was a real shame.
Atmosphere nice inside and we would return. I will just check better next time the ingredients in the food.
Masks were worn and paper menus used which was really good to see.More
Had a very tasty meal here a few weeks ago. If you're looking for a casual bite to eat at very reasonable prices, this is the place. We had a huge portion of chicken wings (we had to bring half of them home), bangers and...mash and a chicken dish all for under €30 total. Lovely wine choices too.More
We visited again last weekend and the food, drink and service is always 100% absolutely a pub to be proud of, even the young lads behind the bar are so polite and kind. Hot chicken wings are the best thing on the menu too...
