Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We only stayed outside on the roof terrace but it was so busy and obviously a local favorite. The food order was taken down incorrectly and the wait for the correct food was pretty bad in addition to the wait in the first place. However,...even this didn’t deter the high rating of this place. Every dish ordered was good. Would highly recommend.More

We were in Malahide and thought it was time for a bite to eat around 5.30 p.m. so went to the upstairs open air terrace bar. The place was buzzing and it was a hot sunny day, but we found a table. I eventually went...to the bar and got two drinks and the menu. I had scampi and chips and my friend had a plain burger and chips - both were very tasty. We ordered at the bar and the food was brought to our table. We shared a round table with two different sets of people. Plenty of people watching and all seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere.More

Really great atmosphere, we shared a loaded fries and the pints were lovely. The staff were on their toes but service was very quick. Real vibrant village pub!

Visited here Saturday, nice friendly staff but my god, the amount of dirty glasses put on the bar where I was drinking was unbelievable and then left for 10 to 15 minutes. I don't want to sit at a bar surrounded by dirty glasses and...empty bottles. Just put them in the washer instead of discussing how much you had to drink and how late you were out last night!! Management sadly lacking. Won't be back for a while . Hopefully Managemet will address this very simple etiquette of bar service!More

Visited here with friends for a couple of pre gig drinks at the weekend. Yes, drink is expensive, but the staff are great. The friendly bar staff, the chatty bouncer on the door, the ladies who were looking after the bathrooms and making sure everything...was spotless. Fair play. Well run place. Will return.More

Friendly staff. Food is okay but choice limited to mostly deep fried with chips. There are loads of much better places to eat in the town but this is not bad for pub grub. Sharp intake of breath when the bar bill arrived though, expensive...even for Malahide.More

A nice downtown Malahide village pub. Great beers and great conversations. I dropped in to watch a match and drink a Guinness. Good walking town and a beautiful seaside village.

Great spot, is always the go to place in Malahide. Can be difficult to find somewhere to sit down snd the outside could do with a jet wash, but still the best place in town.

My husband and I had a wonderful night at Gibneys. We were warmly welcomed by Darran at the bar and promptly served. It’s a beautiful old style pub. Gibneys looks tiny but the pub extends way back- there’s a beer garden out back that must...be lovely on spring & summer evenings. Warm friendly staff, great atmosphere & lots of different beers to choose from. Thank you Darran for a fun evening- We will definitely be back!More

3 Scots & 3 Irish went to the 6 nations game and returned to Malahide as we were staying in the town. We came back to watch the final match found seats and ordered food which everybody enjoyed, so they told me. The atmosphere was...electric and it felt I was back home in my local in Scotland. This was the only time I will ever hear a bar of Irish cheering on an English team. The service was quick, the prices pretty good and the staff having the patience of saints. The crack was brilliant and everybody spoke and a laugh with us, or possibly laughing at me. I can only thank the couple, 2 girls and the patience of 3 ladies for putting up with us, and making our night special with their company, it was the icing on the cake. Here's to coming back in a couple of years time.More

I have been to Gibney's Pub in Malahide Dublin many times over the years its always good. Its a family run business that has retained the magical atmosphere. It offers good food, music and crack what more do you need at a fair price.
