Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited this restaurant for the first time the Saturday of Easter weekend, I’ve wanted to try this restaurant for a long time, and a we visited Malahide for Easter it was perfect opportunity! Well……. I have to say, it did not disappoint, food was...excellent, beautiful wine menu, the service was very friendly but very professional also, the whole experience was amazing, starters were amazing, but the ribeye steak was unreal, best steak out I’ve had in a very long time, we will most definitely be back and 100% recommend this to anyone, the whole ambience was fabulous. Really beautiful restaurant and outstanding service. Speciall mention to Ben who served great cocktails. Food was another level...had the rib eye steak and perfect. Desserts are a shot glass and should really be included as not worth the euro 4.50 price...althrough they were delicious. Outstanding...service and certainly value for money for the complete experience. Thank you and we are already planning our return.More

The food is excellent. So I’m sorry to have to give such a low rating. I’ve been here twice and both times the restaurant has been unbearably noisy. This is not the place to go if you want to be able to have any sort...of conversation. Which is a shame as the food is very good.More

The portions were very tiny. The food was expensive. Nice but expensive. The dessert was a tiny shot glass of ice cream which was eaten with a teaspoon. Extremely disappointed. Had to stop off in Howth on the way home to get a bag of...chips as we were still hungry when we left the restaurant. See the shoot glasses beside a regular glass of water. We won’t be returning unless I’m on a starvation diet where iv decided I’ll be living off rations.More

This was our first and last visit. Place is really lovely and had high expectations. Bar staff were really good. Food is only average and way over priced. Menu was very limited and disappointing. We were not offered a desert menu, instead the waiter arrived...over with small glasses filled with "desert" and each €4.50 and not worth it.More

The food is incredible. I would have happily had anything on the menu. All 10 of my family thoroughly enjoyed our dishes.

Went there for Sunday lunch, beautiful cosy building and really nice friendly and helpful staff. However the food is over priced and the quality does not match the prices, the menu has been similar for years….on this occasion we both had the Sunday lunch special,...roast beef with carrot, cabbage, roast potato and Yorkshire pudding.. at 26 euros per dish, was expecting something great….it was boring, bland, and the meat was so tough….like something you would get in a pub in the 1980,s…. Time to get the kitchen in order….will be back though as the staff and restaurant is great!More

We had a large family gathering for a 70th birthday which Peter and all the staff at the Old Street made into one of the most special and memorable days. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did. Thank you.

Anniversary dinner, not so great! No atmosphere to be honest , lacks ambience. Food lacks desire also, ribeye— fatty and gristle laden: there should be a fillet. Halibut ok but not mad about it. Overall disappointing meal.

It has been a food trip on this vacation in Ireland. Another great find is Old Street in Malahide. The restaurant is a 5-minute walk from the train stop. The restaurant is a great find. The night we dine, the restaurant half-priced bottle wines. In...addition to the ala carte, there is a prefix 3-course menu offered between 5-6:30 pm (Monday-Thursday) for $35 pp. you cannot go wrong wither selecting prefix or a la carte. However, the portions are large. For starters, we shared an order of octopus tempura and dig and goat cheese tart and the portion was sufficient for four who were not too hungry. For main courses, we ordered ribeye, aubergine in creole sauce and parmigiana and pancetta crumb, and pork tenderloin medallions. I must note again about the traceability factor in Ireland, so Irish farm sources for the main ingredients are normally listed. For dessert, we had little cups of mousses in various flavors. Definitely, would go back again.More

We had a really nice lunch here recently. The service is just amazing, and the staff are super friendly. I have Coeliac Disease, so needed Gluten Free options. This wasn't an issue, and I had lots of choices available. They also have one fryer separate...for fries and gluten free. This is a small thing, but makes a massive difference to those who need to think about cross-contamination. Overall, highly recommended!More
