Very disappointing experience. We booked for 6 pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was very noisy, staff were rushing around clearing tables and Moving tables which were not reset so surely could have been left. The waiting staff were lovely. The food was not nice...the Yorkshire pudding had a puddle of grease in the middle, the roast potatoes were also greasy. The deserts are brought out uncovered on a platter to the table and you choose one. Very unhygienic, so obviously no dessert for us. Overall not what I expected and won’t be returning.More

A few of us enjoyed dinner and cocktails here. Starters of prawns were beautiful and mains were lamb and cod. Unfortunately they don’t seem to be offering their lovely bread any longer with starters which is a shame as I always enjoyed it. Both starters...and mains were really tasty with the fish cooked well and lamb really tender. For hygiene reasons we didn’t have any dessert as a tray of miniature desserts is carried from table to table for diners to choose from. In normal circumstances I’d find this off putting. Even worse in a Covid environment. Lovely cocktail after our meal which rounded things off nicelyMore

Fancy restaurant in Malahide town with very nice and professional staff, good selection of starters and mains most of them based on meat. We ordered filet steak and tomahawk to share. Filet steak rare cooked seemed to be ok and juicy however the tomahawk was...very disappointing, 800 grams but more bone than meat, I have never seen a tomahawk which the bone is wider than the steak, regarding to the cooking we ordered rare and it really let us down, the fat wasn’t cooked and the meat was cold, I wonder about the chef expertise managing this special steak, we weren’t able to enjoy the taste of the meat properly. Summarising, more than 200€ dinner for three people and little bit frustrating, maybe we were just in the wrong day or a little bit unlucky.More

Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Old Street in December - beautiful warm, cosy atmosphere. The food was fantastic, cocktails expertly mixed, and the staff super-friendly and helpful especially with the wine recommendations. Particularly special were the flavoursome mini-desserts which were a memorable finale. The mulled...wine gel was a firm favourite. Will definitely be back as they change the menu regularly.More

Great food, great service and nice venue. Had the cheese croquettes starter and the fish & chips main. Both were excellent. Also had a smoked old fashioned (pictured) - super tasty. Can’t wait to be back.

Lovely meal and menu was small but good. A bit pricy with mains €30 to 35 (our bill was €400 for four plus a tip). Service was ok but nothing special. Disappointed in the wine menu with a very small selection of wines at the...lower end (35-40) but most wines €70 plus and most over €100 a bottle (really guys). Also the deserts were a lame affair with only shot glasses filled with pre done cold mousses which seems lazy considering they are charging top dollar for everything else.. No complimentary drink offered and left feeling a bit underwhelmed sadly.More

We have eaten in Old Street many times now. Sometimes inside, sometimes outside, and sometimes on the terrace. Sometimes as a couple, sometimes with family, and sometimes with friends. On all occasions were were delighted with the food and with the service. Highly recommended

We'd been meaning to go here for some time, but frankly the wine prices put me off. Glad I finally relented as Old Street offers an excellent night out. We had croquettes and the Charcuterie for starters, both of which were excellent, though I would've...fancied a bit more cheese to compliment the pleasantly varied cold meat platter. For mains we'd the chicken supreme and the linguine. Again, both excellent, but me being a bit finicky I thought the pasta needed some fork encouragement as it was a bit gooey. Very tasty though, which is what matters. The chef clearly has a thing for garlic. We shared a bottle of Dolcetto which was hugely enjoyable. As were the mini desserts. The staff were excellent, which is always a big plus. They were polite, helpful and pretty timely. I'm not fussy about ambience, decor or general surroundings - my priorities are food and service - but Old Street is an impressive setting for a meal. They've clearly put a lot of thought, money and effort into creating a very pleasant environment. Overall, I'd consider it a really good restaurant, even by Malahide's high standards. It's a little on the pricey side, so I'd regard it an occasional treat rather than a regular dining haunt.More

I was fortunate to attend a wedding reception at this venue. The meal was excellent. I hope to return to enjoy a steak in the coming months. The service was superb.
