Place for a decent Chat!

Food and drink are of a high standard in view of the competitive prices at The Junction in Ballina, County Mayo. Supervision is currently quite active. Various new members of staff are especially charming in their understanding of a few mildly eccentric local patrons. An impression of gossip needs attention. Maintenance appears recently to have encompassed the repair of a notorious mechanism which now shuts a door and so closes a legendary "windy gap"!

Amazingly hot breakfast which is a rarity

While visiting Ballina recently my husband and I stopped off at this establishment for breakfast. We had no trouble getting a table, the sign outside the main door read 'wait and be seated by the waitress' which we did. However, most patrons didn't bother waiting they just barged in. It was very busy and while we were waiting to be served a large queue began to appear outside the restaurant. A VERY GOOD SIGN. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful. Piping hot and well presented. The staff were friendly and courteous, couldn't fault anything. This restaurant deserves to be visited, they know what the public want and deliver. Well done.

Delicious cheesecake

Called in for sweet treats and got what we wanted. Had cheesecake,trifle and icecream and all three dishes were delicious.The homemade toblerone cheesecake was particularly good. Daughter also had a toasted tuna sandwich which she really enjoyed. Staff were busy but friendly. Great little place and would definitely recommend.

We have been to the Junction many times before but we won’t be going back. They used to have the best chips ever but today they were a plate of grease, my salmon was overdone, our soup was cold and served with brown bread butter and jam& marmalade ?? Jam with soup ? I don’t think so. The lady serving us was in such a hurry we had to keep saying excuse me for our drinks, vinegar, etc and it felt like she wanted to feed us so she could clear our plates away and get us out. Considering the past 18months we were looking forward to going back however it was definitely not enjoyable neither the food or service.

Went here to meet friends I thought seeing alot of customers waiting out side it must be a great place to eat . I was badly mistaken the food is all frozen the deserts are bought in and the prices are way above what they are worth . To many workers falling over each other to serve you . Sorry I went in at all over charged for frozen food .

Fisher man’s breakfast! We will be back

I was so impressed with my breakfast sunday morning! I had a fry also good when you can choose what you want to suit yourself ,and my partner got jumbo breakfast.We both finished our plates and were so impressed with the quality of the food and the short amount of time it took to receive it. There was everything you needed supplied to us.Our waitress was very helpful we are sure to be back on our trip day as we are fishing the river moy.

Omg if you haven’t been here then you are seriously missing out. I had the best meal I had in a long while. I had the junction homemade burger with creamy coleslaw and not like that vinegar crap you get in other places with all the trimmings and the most amazing homemade potato wedges that had a coating of sweet chilli but not plastered on them which was such a lovely flavour. I know you are probably saying a burger is a burger but this was huge and genuinely homemade and cooked fresh. All for under €16. Great value and lovely friendly staff also. Would out best a lot of the hotels in the area that I’ve had the awful experience of and overpriced too. Well done guys. Will be back when visiting the area again for sure.

Great staff and lovely food.

Called in today on a wet miserable afternoon and were met by a warm, bustling restaurant. Junior cert results were out that day and a number of families were having celebratery meals. We ordered the steak special and the chicken curry. Both were very good. The serving staff were great. We will call again.

Plain food well cooked and presented

Beautifully cooked liver and bacon with fried onions. Service excellent and very fast for freshly cooked food. Staff very friendly and efficient. Only complaint, 3 liver and bacon, 2 lunch and 1 brunch, each time portions too big in my opinion. Not a bad complaint

Lovely food

Lovely restaurant in the middle of Ballina. It was quite busy when we arrived but the staff were very helpful. We had to wait a little for the food but it was lovely and the portions were a good size too. A very pleasant atmosphere with a large variety of food on the menu for a good price. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in Ballina.

This restaurant is first class. I got the turkey and ham and out of all the places I've travelled in a long time this is top rated. Food quality, quantity and price was brilliant. Price above all €12.95 represent top class food for money. All staff were extremly pleasant and helpful. Would recommend 100%

Ideal for a quick ljnch

Stopped quickly for a light lunch, found the menu to be extensive with loads of choices. Food was decent and staff were lovely, our glasses were slightly cracked/dirty but not the end of the world. Would be open to returning next time I’m in ballina!

Brilliant cafe

Visited here on Monday for breakfast. Very friendly staff, quick service, clean environment and delicious food. We were asked for our COVID vaccine passes before being seated which we were glad to see. Will definitely return when we are back in Ballina.

The staff in Junction were very kind and very professional. The first night I ate at your wonderful restaurant, I arrived when you were closing. Yet, you were most gracious in allowing me to have dinner even though you were all closing for the night!! How kind of you and how professional! Also, the food was great and plentiful on both nights. Well done guys!! I hope your boss realises how valuable you are...

Great food and great atmosphere.

We were staying in enniscrone for a few days and decided to go to Ballina for dinner, we went to the Junction Restaurant and so glad we did.We had to queue but not for long, a queue is a good sign😃 The food was fab and the service great too, very friendly and efficient. The kids loved it too. Well done to all and we’ll definitely be back.
