Exactly what we wanted from an Indian takeaway.

5/5 Indian takeaway. Would highly recommend the Aloo Kerau Cratpat starter. Also my partner and I got both iterations of the Nepalese Garlic Chilli mains (Prawns & Chicken) can not recommend enough. Absolutely delicious got exactly what we wanted from an Indian takeaway bursting with flavour and stuffed afterwards.

Excellent value for Delicious Food

We had a fabulous meal here . The starters included prawns and onion bhajjis which were delicious and so freshly cooked . The mains of chicken madras and saag chicken were beautifully flavoured as was the sag aloo side dish . Piping hot naan and rice were also delicious as were the crispy poppadoms . The service was excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend the Everest!

Best Curry

As I was visiting Ballina I decided to have some curry with spicy kick and got lamb madras. Food was really great and service was fast enough. All the best guys hope to see you on my next visit. 😊😊.

Despite the restaurants claims there were very few Nepalese dishes on offer. The chef seems to have a liking for deep frying food. We ordered (I think) the only two non deep fried starters. Both were dried out from overcooking. The portion sizes were enormous. I suspect that the Nepalese sizzling main dishes we had would have been good if they had not been overcooked, possibly because the cast iron serving plates were overheated. The side dishes were uninspiring.

Covid-19 Safety Missing

We go here every time we are in Ballina to see family, as the food and service has always been great. So it was with some regret this weekend that when we visited there was absolutely no Covid-19 social distancing or protection measures in place. Noneof us felt comfortable, and thought we should have left, but had no other food optionsat 9:00PM. We won't be going back until post Covid-19 or protection measures are put in place.

Great service and good food

Good place for Indian food in ballina considering the number of options around for such a cuisine. The welcome was nice and the service throughout the dinner was great. The best were the momos which is a Nepalese speciality and we're great to start the meal. Very friendly staff and good food.

Wonderful service, great food, lovely ambiance.

My sister and I visited this restaurant on Halloween night, based on a friend's recommendation. The food was delicious, the service was great. Prices were very reasonable. No taxis were available after our meal to take us back to our hotel, so, the restaurant owner arranged transport for us. We were very impressed and will return next time we are in Ballina.

Last minute decision at night and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was really excellent, staff were brilliant and we were just happy to be there. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Great food! But......

I have used this restaurant many times for both eat-in and take-away. This review concerns an eat-in visit to the restaurant. The food used to be mediocre at Everest, but they have thankfully made changes because the menu and food of all types of late is really excellent. Having said this, Indian food especially rice is cheap to produce, but when you pay for a main course and then have to pay up to €3-50 for a single small portion of rice on top of the main course cost and €7-50 for a bottle of Cobra, I'm afraid it all gets pretty expensive. But.... there were other problems. The constant traffic of take away bags is a huge annoyance when you are sitting in a restaurant and paying restaurant prices, in this case quite expensive ones. The busy take-away business seems to well outweigh the in house clientelle and also causes a problem as the kitchen backs up with so many orders, and the floor staff are under pressure to help, and you have to keep asking them to serve you. The main problem though is that the place is not clean. It is also a bit run down and it's very dark. At the entrance there is a flight of stairs not used by any customers on which the carpet can only be described as filthy. This is the first thing you see when you walk in.... first impressions... not nice. Sticky carpets, aged furniture, grubby doors where hands have left their mark over the years and not been cleaned, grubby toilets and windows also do not add to the ambience. One then asks oneself, "I wonder how clean the kitchen is?" In all, excellent food, good friendly staff, but Everest really needs to get the place re-vamped and thoroughly cleaned and make its mind up considering its layout, whether it wants to be a restaurant or a take away.

Pleasantly surprised - divine.

Not being local to Ballina we booked this restaurant based on its ratings on TripAdvisor. The entrance and reception does not reflect the standard of the restaurant. We were very sceptical going in but very pleasantly surprised. The food was divine and the service was great.

Great tasting food

Don’t let the decor put you off. Food is really tasty. I tried the Kathmandu 7 spice chicken starter & prawn Nepalese curry. Staff were very friendly & service was great.

I’ve been here many times and the food has always been delicious, the staff here are so friendly and are also very helpful, if you like hot spicy food or cool mild food this place will adjust to your liking. Very very nice
