Charming restaurant in a lovely courtyard setting

Booked Luskins having read other reviews. This is a charming little place looking out over a cobbled courtyard. Staff very attentive and courteous without the seemingly compulsory "How's everything", when your mouth is full. Delicious food served for all 3 courses, all timed perfectly. Decent portion sizes, left the place feeli g happily full. Would definitely recommend to others.

Superb Dining Experience

A thousand thanks to Gerry and his son (brilliant host) for making our family birthday celebrations a memorable evening. Despite a busy restaurant, Luskin's went out of their way to make all 9 of us feel so welcome, service was excellent, food was delicious and they couldn't do enough for us to ensure that we all enjoyed ourselves. We genuinely appreciate your efforts and will be back before you know it. Thank you so much. ps My niece also enjoyed her BD dessert plate! Also, your outdoor area is probably the best and most comfortable outdoor dining area we have enjoyed since all restaurants have reopened.

Beautiful Food

We drove into Ballina to look for restaurants and went to Luskins to have a look at the Menu, it was late afternoon about 4 o'clock and it wasn't open but there was staff inside and when they saw us looking came out to see could they help. We booked a table for the following night which was a Friday and we were so glad we did. The restaurant was full and the staff all had masks on. We both had the salmon starter which was excellent, it was Salmon Ceviche style marinated in beetroot and poitin. We also both had the lamb as we both love lamb. It was one of the nicest lamb dishes we've eaten, it was rack of lamb and belly of lamb and with chips was just perfect. We didn't want it to finish. We had it with a bottle of red wine (Italian). A great meal in a lovely setting.

Extremely disappointing on both interactions with here

I rang Luskins a few weeks back when indoor dining opened, he answered firstly with 'yeah', so I said I wanted to book a table for Saturday night 8pm. He said no problem and asked for how many, I said 2 and he laughed and said no we're not taking a table for 2. He didn't explain why, I assume it's because of limited space and he wants to fill bigger tables but there was no need for the rudeness. I asked him was he at least open for takeaway service to which he replied yes. I rang 6/7 times that Saturday night for takeaway, there was no answer. Following this, I seen Luskins were part of a new local initiative to "Helping to reduce food waste and in turn saving the environment". An app developed locally - Foodie Save. I purchased through the app after seeing Luskins advertised a meal ready to be collected between 9-10pm. I rang 5 mins to 9 to ensure there would be no issues with the order as it was a new set up. The same man answered. He is so rude. He told me he didn't think there would be food, asked what I ordered (clearly had no idea how the app works). I told him I had paid for the food and his reply was 'well you didn't pay me, you paid the app and that can be spent again anywhere on the app (again this is incorrect). He then said 'Call at half 9 to see if I have anything then but it's doubtful'. He followed this with I'm busy serving, bye. And he hung up. He's known locally for being rude and he really is incredibly demeaning and rude. I will never return again and have reported him to the business running the app. If you want respect and politeness this is somewhere to avoid.

Service Poor

The overall experience was disappointment. When we arrived we presented our COVID certs but waitress was not interested. In fact she never checked or took our contact details. The service was woeful. First the waitress presented dirty wine glasses, and was unpleasant when asked for replacements. The food was served cold, chips and fish were over cooked. Although we had booked the table for 7pm we asked for coffee at 8.15 and the waitress said she would have to check with the manager as the table was required at 8.30. Overall impressions were - poorly run, untrained and unprofessional staff, over priced for dreadful food. Will not be returning.

Overpriced and underrated

Last minute reservation, restaurant 1/2 full so not busy, food overpriced, burnt and have definitely tasted better in ballina, allergen menu needs updated twice asked for specifications on menu, not very helpful and came as a dish with specified allergen on it so child couldn't eat it anyways!! Main course €18 for chicken and bit of mash no veg! Won't be returning!!

Great meal and treated like family.

We dined at Luskin’s on a Saturday evening and the service, atmosphere and food were excellent. We were treated like family by Stephany and Gerry. We dined over chowder, Caesar salad and the Steak bap and throughly enjoyed them all along with a Morretti and Pornstar martini. We can’t wait to go back for another meal and this time an Irish coffee! Highly recommend Luskin’s.

Delicious food & Service

Had a delicious meal here this evening. Had the pork belly and jus for starters, it was delicious. We both had the duo lamb, presentation was perfect but I didn’t get the wow factor for the lamb stir fry veg and mash was perfect.. Service was great and look forward to trying out other dishes.

5 hours ago NEW On behalf of The Moy Singers I would like to thank Gerry, John and their team for a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and the service was five star. They couldn't do enough for our group of 30. I really recommend this beautiful restaurant which is also full of character.

Absolutely fabulous meal and service!

We had the best dinner at Luskin’s with our family. The food was absolutely divine. We have been travelling all throughout Ireland and this was no doubt the best meal we have had all trip! The service was impeccable and just an all around amazing dining experience. An absolute must if travelling to Ballina!

Best ever meal

The restaurant was very nice, food gorgeous I enjoyed every bite. Staff two lovely young fellas. very friendly and helpful. i had salmon marty had steak, we cleaned our plates, dessert was lovely, I had lemon Eton mess. Marty had strawberry. it was delicious. Best restaurant in ballina
