Spent a very pleasant few hours in the woollen mills. Restaurant is excellent for lunch or afternoon tea and is reasonably priced. Shop has lovely gift ideas and is worth a browse. Construction is going on outside( does not impact the inside!) Which presumably will...add to the appeal and provide outdoor dining. Worth a visit !More

Foxford Woollen Mills in Foxford, County Mayo is a wonderful shop, with fabulous mens womens and children clothes section, also interiors, baby and child, and lots more. Had a leisurely browse, picnicked on delicious toasted sourdough sandwich while sitting near the riverside and then back...to the shop to finalize my purchases. These were some baby gifts, some soaps and a bag, along with some goodies from the food section. The service is friendly, welcoming and helpful and it’s a real pleasure shopping thereMore

Best lunch we had in 3 weeks in ireland. About 10 different fresh salads which are really inventive e.g. baby kale , yellow beetroot etc. you get a choice of about 4 with whatever main you want - I recommend the salmon and potato cake....Terrific looking cakes too. etc etc. I suggest you go even if not interested in the millMore

We visited the Woolen Mills to hear about the history and take the excellent tour. Afterwards we visited the cafe which was a gem. Many locals were coming to the mill just for the cafe, always a good sign. We were surprised how good it...was. The food was excellent. I was told they had been awarded an accolade the week before as being the best cafe in county Mayo.More

The cafe at the Foxford Woollen Mills is top class. The food is amazing and the baked desserts are awesome. Only 4 stars because of the lift. Tends to get stuck once

We arrived around lunch time and had seafood chowder and salads. There were a number for appealing looking dessert tarts, but the pecan and maple syrup tart had my name all over it. It was so good that I asked if they gave out the...recipe. If you have run across any other of my Ireland reviews, you know that I live for seafood chowder and great desserts. Foxford Woolen Mills Cafe delivers!!!More

Had lunch in the cafe. I usually have the quiche with salads. The quiche itself is feathery light but oozes with flavor. Salads are fresh and very well made. The staff are a delight and always very kind and courteous. Away from the food the...place is chock full of nice things. I kind the fact that most of the materials and candles etc are Irish made.More

I visit here regularly, usually for Sunday lunch with family, but sometimes just for coffee/ cake. The cafe is located in a bright, airy space (showing my age here but I remember being in these rooms as a child when my mother was buying material)....Staff are very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable about the food (reassuringly cautious about gluten-containing foods and know what to do to avoid cross-contamination). Food is really good. Sunday lunch consists of 'hot' options e.g. roast chicken with stuffing, gravy, perfectly cooked veg and roast/ mashed potato or lamb shank with similar accompaniments OR cold options e.g. quiche/ salmon/ fishcake with a wide range of salads. For something lighter you can have soup and bread. Desserts are particularly good and always include a few gluten-free options. The cafe attracts a loyal, local clientele as well as visitors to the area and is a very welcome attraction in the town.More
