Lovely food!

We went here for tea with the family, food was lovely, staff were friendly, big portions which was good as we were all hungry! Nice atmosphere. The ice cream was also really tasty and wish I was eating it now! All round nice experience we would visit again. Came from the uk to visit friends.

Arrived with 3 friends for some dinner and were seated immediately upon arrival. Made feel very welcome and wanted. Service was brilliant overall. Big portions for very reasonable prices. Quality of food was fantastic and overall had a very pleasant experience. Would 100% recommend

Thank you for your uplifting review, Belmullet people are great hosts and we have some of the best. We all eat here and there not shy at giving feedback, but honestly the team have done great this summer coping with a new kitchen and additional rooms…. It was hard and I’m proud of them. We are only getting our energy back after a busy summer but your review has given me the boost to keep driving forward. Thank you for thinking of us and spreading the good word. A special thank you to our team …(they read these all the time) when your good your great … when you’re bad your better… 🤣

Stylish boutique hotel. Room clean andwell presented. Super king, comfortable bed. Ability to control temp and fully operational! Hot water and a wonderful bath tub and separate shower. Service was attentive and food was delicious. Can’t wait to go back. And reasonably priced. Have also had bar food many times and it’s always top class.

Very disappointing

I stayed at the Talbot hotel with my mother and my sister last week. The hotel and the adjoining restaurant are not of 4 star quality. We ate in the restaurant the first night. Although the food was very nice the service was horrendous. We were missing cutlery at our table and had to ask the waitresses on three separate occasions for cutlery. By the time the cutlery was delivered to our table the food needed to be reheated. We had ordered drinks at least 20 minutes before the issue with the cutlery and the drinks were not delivered either until we had to complain and ask for a supervisor. It seemed there were no allocation of servers to the different tables. There was a quite a large table the servers were paying quite a lot of attention to with 6 children who were then running around over and back past our table with no masks on and the staff really should have said something to the parents. With regards to the hotel there were stains on the mattress protector in the room. Although the lady on reception was very helpful and they changed it. The air con was not working in our room and the heat was so uncomfortable we were moved to another room. Again there were stains on the mattress protector in this room although the cleaning lady 'Anna' had left her card stating how proud she is in preparing the rooms for guests. I would expect that any mattress protectors with stains should be changed. At this stage there were so many issues I didn't have the heart to inform the reception of this again. In my mother's rooms with the air con on there was a very strong smell of sewage in the room so she had to be moved to another room. I have never stayed somewhere with so many issues. It was very disappointing. On a positive note the staff in the restaurant were apologetic and the staff on reception were very pleasant and friendly. Additionally there was a waitress called Aoife who worked during breakfast who was fantastic. The breakfast was also excellent. Although even with those positive points noted I would not recommend this hotel and would not return.

Disappointing breakfast

Had breakfast this morning, terrible!! Staff did not look happy and when the breakfast came out I was disappointed. The rashers didn't look cooked and we're really fatty. The sausages were sour and when I said it to the girl, I got a half apology. Very disappointed as I was here before for lunch and have highly recommended it to friends for lunch

I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your breakfast, your right we are all stressed during festival. The tan explodes with people food runs all day and staff work extra to try and cope this year was especially busy and other businesses closed for breakfast putting unexpected extra pressure on us. We have learnt we need to turn people away at these times it’s too much pressure on that day I personally worked from 7.30 am to 10.30pm with a half hour break only because I had to drop my 15 year old home after she made fishcakes as we were running out …so it really is all hands on deck. I have a lot of young staff who not only work but also have a social life this leaves them burning the candle both ends , I’m sorry they were not on there A game I was not out and neither was I I’m afraid. I do not understand the sour sausages as the turnover was swift and I’ve never experienced this over the years but we try to find out why . I am constantly looking for a Mammy figure for breakfast but it’s hard to find anyone. It takes a while for us to return to normal service after festival but I will address all you issues with the staff to see how we can do better next year it’s the one time of year that we really struggle and have asked the festival committee to try spread events throughout the year rather than having so many events together. I understand why places closed Monday and Tuesday but that only puts more pressure on the places trying to provide a service… I’m not sure the answere maybe we need to do like Westport and only look after residents. It will take us awhile but we will figuh

Perfect hide away luxury on the wild Atlantic way

Gorgeous hotel with five star service and restaurant. Stayed an extra night as it was so good. The most comfortable bed and luxury bedding big deep bath and walk in shower. What’s not to like

I’m sold! Thank you for your great review. Our beds are amazing … we once had a daughter come for assistance at reception as she couldn’t wake her elderly mom in the next room who was an early riser and light sleeper, she was afraid to go into the room. Mother said she had the best sleep ever! We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay and hopefully you get to experience the beds again shortly. Thank you for spreading the good word.

Kathleen has only joined us recently, but from the beginning I was confident she was the right person for us, her boys worked there way through college with us and they were great a credit to their parents. Nice lively atmosphere

Lovely spot and great atmosphere. We arrived and were able to get a table (2 adults and 2 kids) without much of a problem even though it appeared slightly busy when we got there. There was a mix up with starters/mains as they were brought out together (after a bit of a delay) but rather than sending anything back we just took everything at that stage. Couldn't fault the quality of food and it was really nice.

Visiting family ,Myself and friends stayed in Belmullet and had dinner at The Talbot hotel .Beautiful food ,beautiful establishment at affordable prices .Fresh fish ,served by friendly ,delightful staff where nothing is too much trouble to make sure there guests have a great night !

Our chefs love to work with fresh fish, serving delicious healthy and tasty dishes, this is what brings our guests back time and again. Visited with family after picking up my son from Colaiste Uisce. We spend a few hours there to catch up over lunch, food was great as was the service and we were not rushed. Steak sandwich got the thumbs up

“Gur a maith agat”,thank you for your review, Now we have the space it is much more relaxed for the customer and the staff. Well picked our sandwich is very popular full of flavour. We have a mix of 1/2 new servers and 1/2 long term with us years as now covid is controlled many of our students had the opportunity to travel and who could blame them . Normally we start 2/3 yearly and they are often with us up to 7 years through secondary and college but this year we have started 9 , there good kids and they are settling in great which gives us great optimism for the future. So well done to all our new staff and a big thank you to our seniors whose patience has been tested often… Kelley in particular. I trust your son had a great time at Uisce it’s a lively spot and that he can now give out “as gaeilge” Thank you again for spreading the good word.

What a gem of a place !

Beautiful plush decor upstairs, we were 1st in at 6.30 on a Sat eve & at the start felt it might be too quiet for us...well soon after it filled up & was simply fabulous - the food was TOP CLASS, excellent standard- apart from the delicious fish, the strawberry & white choc cheescake was divine, melt in the mouth ! Really quick & friendly service - if you are travelling around Mayo, make sure to stop in Belmullet for this place...beaches around here are beautifully unspoilt too - enjoy travellers !!

A beautiful meal

Had a lovely meal here with some cousins , food and service was excellent. All six of us loved all of our choices and despite feeling full up we could not resist the desserts ! food and wine was resonable priced and the staff were polite, friendly and efficient,

Great restaurant but book in advance

We have eaten here almost every time we have visited Bellmullet. Food is great, atmosphere is relaxed with a designer boutique look. Staff are friendly, but do book as tables are in demand.
