Love this place. Went (again) whilst on 'out of season' short break in October 2019. It was a cold and windy day in Dingle but the atmosphere in here made up for it! I had the soup/sandwich option, very generous portions. I love the 'baby bowl' option, which is carrot, turnip & potato mashed with gravy, only €3 which is ideal for toddlers, or smaller children 😊 great facilities and will definitely return!

The food is good quality pub food. There is plenty of choice on the menu and also reasonably priced. The beef was tasty but could have done with a few extra vegetables and an extra slice of beef. The service wasn't top notch but this is understandable due to the current situation across Ireland. We were left waiting a long while to place an order, even for drinks and the water we asked for when seated never arrived. Covid friendly and easy to book in online.

We ate here last Sat Aug 1st.. Had no booking on Sat afternoon but we were accommodated no problem even though they were quite busy. All the boxes for covid were ticked to my satisfaction. Staff were friendly and efficient and all wearing masks correctly ( not like some places with masks around the chin been pulled up and down and visors been handled and adjusted constantly )... the screens that were in place did their job and you weren’t left with a sense of isolation that we found elsewhere and so gave us a sense of what we used to know and love about pub dining. The doors into the Loos were also left open which I really appreciated. I know they were on a long corridor and it was easier to do here than perhaps in other places. My pizza was one of the best pizzas I have had in a long while and my companion was very happy with his pint of Guinness. The best dining experience we had in the kingdom for our short 5 day stay and we will definitely be back here the next time we are in Dingle. Well done to everyone there 👏👏👏

Both myself and my friend are in Dingle for a few days, I have been in Geaney’s before for food and drinks and was really looking forward to returning. We also had lunch earlier today which was lovely. We had been in contact with the restaurant via email and phone prior to our booking which of course is normal procedure during these strange times. However from the moment we entered, the hostess was rude to us and told my friend to “wait a minute” after my friend had simply greeted her from a distance (as is normal etiquette) We both understand the pressure that staff are under at this time however front of house staff should be friendly and welcoming. We were under the impression (as per Government guidelines) that we had to order food to the value of 9€ each, which we were more than happy to do. However when the same waitress approached us to take our order she informed us that they were operating as a “restaurant” which required us to order a main course. We were unaware of this as we both wanted to order starters with sides which amounts to more than €9 each. If we were told this information prior to our booking then we would have planned our evening differently and this information should be readily available when initial contact is made with Geaney’s. The service in general was really disappointing and we did not feel welcome at any point during our visit. We both drank 2 drinks had 2 starters and a side and when I requested another drink (1 hour into our meal) the waiter mumbled something at us and walked off. This is simply rudeness and bad manners and we know they were just trying to get rid of us immediately after we had finished eating. When we spoke with the same waitress about our missing drinks order she stated that the particular waiter doesn’t take drink orders..which he never told us. To add insult to injury the table behind us ordered drinks from him and he responded “your drinks are on the way” He was polite with this table and informed them that they were welcome to stay until 8:30 even though they were there prior to 6:30 when we arrived. We feel that this experience has tainted our evening as we were really looking forward to eating again in Geaney’s however we will not be back and won’t be recommending it to anyone. There is no excuse for ill-manners and rudeness especially when we are understanding of the challenging times. Extremely disappointed.

Hi, We were disappointed that you felt you could rock in and have drinks only “because you had a reservation somewhere else” for dinner. We are operating as a Restaurant under Covid restrictions. Your server made it clear that you could have the table for an hour and didn’t have to order the large wings as you only had the hour and allowed you to order the starter portion instead. You knew full well what the regulations were before booking, and if you didn’t there was a sign on the door before you came in. The other table had the same booking time as you in fact, and they were probably treated more pleasantly due to the fact that they were following the rules, and weren’t treating us -a Restaurant-like a stop gap between your reservation elsewhere and a pre dinner beverage.

Visited Paul Geaneys yesterday 18/07 and will never return again , from the moment we walked in the reception was hostile , we made allowances as assumed the female hostess was under pressure with covid 19 and the new protocols , we were polite but unfortunately the experience of the female host and waiting staff didn’t improve . The food is also overpriced and the portions are tiny . Dingle is a fantastic town with an array of pubs and restaurants and I will continue to give my custom to them . This place will never be greeted with my presence again , good customer service costs nothing .

Overall bad experience and very unpleasant staff. We reserved a table but 30 mins in after ordering food over €13 each (government guidelines a meal of €9) the waitress asked us to leave after 30 mins because some of us had ordered desserts with sides and not main course. Also we booked to watch the Munster rugby match but the staff turned off the match and refused to turn it back on. Never going back.

I asked to order two starters which was soup and garlic bead to the equilivent of €10.50 which is over the goverment guideline of €9, i was told no by a staff memeber because "The boss needs to pay us" so you need to order a main. As a veggie there wasnt much of an option on the mains for me so i ordered a pizz which was €11, an additional 50cent from my original order (doesnt make sense). When another member of staff asked if we were ok i said no and explained the situation, he proceded to tell me they do not have to follow goverenment guidelines so i told him as a consumer i can order what ever i want from the menu once it was over the 9 euro and he walked off. We paid and left straight after eating as I wouldn't give a place like that my custom to be followed outside and accused of NOT PAYING in the middle of the street!!!!!!!!

Visited for lunch during phase 3, one hostess was very polite and nice however when seated service was very poor. Couldn’t get attention of staff to order drinks and when finally ordered they brought the wrong order then when ordered again it was forgotten. Had to ask twice for dessert menu and was then told after waiting to order dessert we had to only 10 minutes to leave which was shorter than time allowed to stay. The one hostess did rectify our order but didn’t really make up for the rest. Also the food was pretty standard but I wouldn’t recommend going if you’re looking a nice relaxing lunch.

Hi Thank you for your review. I’m sorry your visit wasn’t a good experience. As you know we had been closed for 3 months and then dropped straight into the busiest months of our year. As a result our staff were, and still are finding their feet. We are also contending with the difficulties of Covid-19 and trying our best to adhere to all the government’s protocols. It is a very difficult time for our industry. I agree with you, we aren’t the place to be for a relaxing lunch. The demand for tables are exponential right now and Dingle is very busy. We are trying to cater for visitors as best we can. Apologies on our behalf, we hope you call again at a quieter time of year and you’ll be able to have a relaxing lunch with top class service.

My Friends and I visited geaneys yesterday and were very disappointed by our visit. The waitress we had was lovely and so attentive making sure we were ok. However, the older man who was around serving was awful and treated us terribly. He refused to split the bill for us repeatedly saying it was too much of an inconvenience even though the waitress did it easily on the computer. Also when ordering off him he never managed to bring over the stuff we asked for, we had to ask the waitress or the man behind the bar making the cocktails for our items. These items still appeared on our bill even though never received. The man also made us feel very uncomfortable by physically moving us out of the way while we were trying to pay our bill. The food was very nice and atmosphere was lovely but our visit was ruined by the rude and obnoxious attitude of the older man.

Was very excited to visit Paul Geaneys, had heard very nice things. We had made our booking for 6:30 we arrived on time and were very polite to the blonde waitress serving us however when we went to order she complained about our order of two starters and sides. She claimed that it was main course only however we had never been told that when making the booking. For the remainder of the evening we weren’t treated well. We were rushed out the door and had a waiter ignore our drinks order. Terrible service and attitude.

Just been to this restaurant on spec lovely lady explained we could have a table but would need to vacate after an hour and 15 mins no problem we were just glad to get a table. Service was excellent, food was ideal and moderately priced the only issue was watching the rude older gentleman at the reception desk who on occasion ignored people while checking the bookings or phone and who proceeded to turn a number of people away while he ate at a booth for four people. I get it they were busy but when a staff member turns away customers while he eats tinges our cead mile failte slightly.

Good tasty food and portions, fair prices, my friend had lasagna, I had a chicken burger with pineapple. They have taken every precaution to comply with Covid rules and regulations. Only available table was at 6p.m. they were fully booked out, even though they had a booked out sign up, people were still coming in and some were not too gracious when told there were no tables available. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, came to check on us a few times even though they were very busy, a special mention to Keira one of the nicest and most helpful waitress I have met in a long time. Would recommend restaurant they have a variety of lovely salads, nice starters and a Roast of the Day etc. scrumptious deserts and a good wine list with reasonable prices. Would recommend making a reservation. They also have outside dining and parking at back of premises .

Visited on 9/7 with my sisters for dinner. Full safety procedures and social distancing was in place. We felt very safe. The owner was very friendly and good craic, as were all the staff and we felt they genuinely went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Food and cocktails were lovely and we enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner the next evening and lunch the day after that. Service was great and they gave us great recommendations of places to visit during our stay which was great. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return the next time we visit Dingle .. hopefully soon 😀

I had breakfast at Geaneys on a few occasions throughout August and each meal was excellent. The food was brilliant. I was able to get gluten free options and the other members of my party loved the eggs Benedict and pancakes. The staff are exceptional, efficient and friendly - all in PPE. There are protective screens in the main dining area, sanitisation stations and floor markings, giving great peace of mind. Highly recommend!
