Recently had breakfast at James Longs. Lovely food, friendly staff and not overly expensive. Set on the Quayside it's ideally located for parking with a large car park across the road. Looking forward to returning for an evening meal.
We had a group of 30 and were seated on the 2nd floor. Appetizers we good. Had the Thai chicken curry- very good. Heard two complaints about the steak sandwiches.
If you want frozen onion rings , unimaginative salad and mayo from a plastic tube then this is the place for you
I had monkfish goujons was excellent!! Batter was really light and crispy, spicy mayo was delicious. My partner had burger was also very good. We wanted outside seats but the weather was nice and looks busy so we had seats inside was quite cozy.
Lovely food, very good value, we had the fish and chips, it was great, very fresh. Much better than a restaurant, they are poor quality down there in Dingle. Longs all the way.
Every time I post a foodie review, I talk about my partner’s seafood orders but I always opt for something different. But in Tullamore, I tried Ethan’s fish and chips and they were unlike any seafood I’d had. So good. And left me craving them...all over again. So in Dingle at James Long, as we sat directly beside the ocean, it only made sense that I ordered my own. 🍽️ Dingle Bay Beer Battered Fish & Chips of the Day | This was my order and I grubbed into some of my very own fish and chips with so much joy. I hate to say it still wasn’t on the level of Browne’s in Tullamore, but still pretty darn good. I have been converted, but only in Ireland. 🍽️ Daily Special Seafood Platter | Ethan got one of the daily specials that came with three different types of fish and shrimp on top. There was also a vegetable mix and of course since we’re still in Ireland, there were potatoes involved. He scraped up this big boy plate and super enjoyed it. All fresh catches from the local bay. 🍸 Irish Coffee & Hot Toddy | The weather was pretty 0/10 with pouring rain that was freezing cold so we hung our wet jackets and got these hot drinks immediately. They were just what we needed. This town was a cute stop with great fresh seafood and awesome sights. I’m so glad we got this local recommendation for dinner. I walked over from where I was staying last night and this place was fantastic! I couldn't have asked for more pleasant and friendly staff. Food and atmosphere was amazing! A must if you're in Dingle and ready to enjoy your time.
Have always wanted to visit this particular restaurant but when here last few times it was still under construction. But no longer and what a fantastic job they did getting the place up and running! Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The full Irish is more than...full. If one is still hungry after eating all the wonderfully cooked goodies on this plate, then one must have a hollow leg. Absolutely terrific. The avocado toast is also right up there with terrific. Plentiful with great taste. Physical surroundings are really nice and the staff is on point. Terrific service, can't be more helpful. Great staff, great place, and great food. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.More
Popped in for food on a Saturday afternoon as it was one of few places open in Dingle. Good atmosphere in the pub. However our experience wasn’t good. Firstly there was no baby chair for our son so we had to hold him until one...became available. We witnessed other families coming in and having to wait like us which is crazy. We ordered the James Long basket and the fish was poor. The calamari and fish had a rubber consistency. So much so I asked my husband was the fish cooked properly. I have seen other reviewers get similar so maybe we just had a bad day but wouldn’t be getting fish again if I was to visit. Sad for a seaside town.More
Wonderful pub, great food and great service, can't recommend it enough. We had the James Long Basket and the Chicken Tenders, everything was very tasty
It was a very busy Saturday night and luckily we had booked. There was a great atmosphere and our table was ready for us at the right time. Service was excellent with very nice local staff. The food was also very good and the portions...were a good size. We would certainly go again. It delivered on its promise.More
Had a lovely time here! Staff were all lovely, food however wasn’t amazing. Myself and my partner both got specials which we didn’t love, but they weren’t on the set menu so nothing too much to worry about.
Great spot. Food was delicious and staff were very nice. Recommend booking ahead as it’s a busy establishment.
Busy restuarant. I hadn't booked, but they had a table. I ordered monkfish ..... with a a creamy sauce. I thought the sauce might be a bit rich and ordered it 'on the side' ... good choice ! Came with mash + mashed ? sweet...potato. one or other would have been sufficient. Also came with greens, but they were served in butter. All in all, it was a bit too much / too rich for my tastes .... but the fish was nice !More
