Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Before going to Dingle earlier this month we had watched a TV programme presented by John Torode the “Masterchef Presenter” on BBC. There was a feature done on the programme about this Tapas Bar in Dingle. I was interested in what the chef had to...say about his ingredients etc. We booked a table there one evening and found it to be a busy place full of foreign visitors to Co. Kerry. The menu was difficult to understand, the item that I particularly wanted to have was Porcini mushroom croquettes as featured on the TV programme. They were not on the menu, when I asked, I got told that the menu was changed regularly. I had Solas Tomato Confit with Sourdough, Olive Juice @ €12, this might as well have been a stewed tin of chopped tomatoes reduced. I also had Fig Tempura Angie’s Dingle Goats Cheese & spiced Honey which was more like a desert it was SO sweet and was €16 My husband had Chorizo & Manchego Cheese croquettes with Ramson Aoili €8 for 2 (half the size of a ping-pong ball) though tasted ok. He also had a lamb and lamb kidney kebab (if I remember correctly) which would have been about €16 also. Glasses of wine were €10 a glass. You could go to a 5-star hotel in Dublin and pay little more than that for a glass of wine. The whole thing was very disappointing, particularly as the chef had really charmed me by his foraging etc on the TV programme. The noisy music belting out on to the street from pub across road was AWFUL and didn’t make for a pleasant experience while dining, particularly if you were outside. Foreigners all complaining of expensive food not just here but in most of Dingle.More

Sorry you were disappointed by our prices but the costs we, and every other restaurant, are facing with food price increases is actually scary. If the government don’t step in and do something about it, along with taxes, rates, energy bills, pay increases there will...More

Honestly, it was like they'd dialed up the taste on everything, even toast! Yes, it is more expensive than the quick eat, pub places here in Dingle but you need both. This is a really special place, equal to any of the lovely places we've...eaten in London and to have it here in Dingle! I think the poor reviews for £, portion sizes and not allowing under 10s etc are really mean. All of this you can gather online before you book and/or could have sorted out in person with the staff on the day. Will definitely be back!More

The food was good but the bill was outrageous. Family of 6 adults and 5 children. The menu was very misleading as the Main Dishes stated for sharing but there wasn’t enough to share between 2 people I asked for a scoop of ice cream...and 1 candle to sing Happy Birthday to my 9 year old granddaughter. I was told they only had a sorbet so 1 scoop and was charged €10 !!!More

I’m sorry you were so disappointed with the restaurant. We have changed our “sharing” plates to “larger” plates so as to avoid misleading customers on portion size. I’m shocked you were charged €10 for 1 scoop of sorbet. All I can do is apologise as...More

Had a revisit last week to one of my favourite restaurants in Ireland. How Chef Nicky can make simple tomatoes to be one of the nicest things I have ever eaten is a mystery to me but he does and same applies to every dish....It is impossible to recommend any dish but the Tomato Confit on sourdough is amazing! I think I was sitting beside the previous reviewer as they were blown away too as first timers. Anne and Nicky work hard in this small restaurant but what they produce and the welcome is amazing. Book in advance folks - it is so worth it!More

In this informal little restaurant in the centre of Dingle, on a cold and rainy evening, the waitress after showing us the table didn't allow us to stay on account of our 4 year old kid. She was terribly sorry but it's not their policy...to accept kids under 10. Obviously no sign could be read at the entrance, as it is usual for dogs....More

By sheer good luck we got a cancellation here last night and it was spectacular, someone in the kitchen is gifted when it comes to combining flavours, had an anchovy with manchego cheese that was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten, also...the simple sourdough with tomato and the goats cheese and tempura fig! Yummy, could have eaten everything on the menu, terrific friendly service too. Can’t wait to go backMore

Extremely disappointed. Went with two friends for dinner. My friend is vegetarian. When we asked about the vegetarian options, we were told they could change the lobster pasta to a tomato sauce pasta for €24 euro. We asked if they had any other options and...the waiter looked at the menu and said well there is the cheese board and patatas bravas. What a joke, cheese board for your dinner.More

Sorry you were disappointed with the menu. We actually have a lot more vegetarian options than just cheese and potatoes so can’t understand why you were told what you were told. Again, my apologies.

UNREAL! Honestly the nicest meal I've had in I don't no how long. The chorizo and manchego croquettes were sensational probably the nicest thing I've ever had. We had a charged lettuce salad (im not describing it right) and my god it was delicious. Pork...belly sharing plate delicious. Potato bravos great side with it. The lady serving us was very nice too as were all the staff. Yes it's a little pricey but when you see fresh crab being delivered off the boats during your meal, you can see they are only getting the best ingredients. Delicious ingredients cooked to perfection. Don't drink so didn't sample wines. Overall 10/10 I couldn't fault it. Ill be back.More

The food here is amazing! We had some of the best tapas ever. The menu changes daily, with whatever is seasonal and available, so it's hard to say that you'd get the items we had. However, if you encounter the tempura fig with goat cheese...or the scallop ceviche, do not hesitate to order those. I suspect the papas bravas are a regular menu item and are also fantastic. Truly, just don't hesitate to order anything they offer.More

The food was interesting, beautifully presented, and delicious. We were thrilled to learn that they had just received a Michelin rating that same day, and yet they were working just as hard, creating fabulous food. The octopus carpaccio was unusual, and absolutely worth the splurge,...the oysters were beautiful, the scallops and croquettes delicious, and the cheeseboard was generous and filling. The fish and cheeses were locally sourced of course and tasted that way. The waitstaff was consistently attentive and helpful. No alcohol and the wind choices by the glass could be expanded a bit, that would be nice.More

Having seen the prices we tried to cancel our reservation but would have had to pay 90 euros as we were cancelling less than 24 hours before the booking. Good quality but hugely overpriced.More

I would say that depends on how well behaved the toddler is! Best to call ahead to see if they have high chairs I reckon. It wouldn’t be safe for a toddler to be toddling around but that’s the case with all restaurants imo.
