Nice pub with friendly owner and staff. We really like the place. Had a beer in the garden. Nice and slow... Thanks for a great time!

We ate here 4 times in the three days we were here! Mr. Benny is a true gentleman. He gladly arranged a taxi for us as we had car trouble. The food is excellent and they had an ice cold Dick Mack’s IPA that I...loved. We tried fish n’ chips, hamburger, risotto, soup and brown bread, the sticky toffee pudding, and the bread and butter pudding. Everything was served promptly and tasted delicious.More
Went here a couple of times and wasn’t disappointed. The food was great. I had the steak and it was delicious. Also had the Oysters the next day. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely Irish music playing whilst eating. Would highly recommend.
The food is great here, the service was excellent and the staff welcoming! If you are lucky enough to be here on a music night go! We were so lucky to see Eilis Kennedy and Elle Marie O'Dwyer along with a very talented group one...night! Gorgeous!More
Just so so. Waitress tried to rush us ordering. Food was mediocre. Advertised a woman singing. We had met a couple on the beach who told us how good she was so we went there for dinner beforehand. She never showed. When i asked the...bartender where she was he said it was Wednesday and she was off. It was Friday!More
Vegetarians Welcome! Traveling through Ireland and finding it hard to locate amazing vegetarian food, not today… I ordered (and devoured) the Suzi’s Poke Bowl. With hints of sesame oil and seeds, fresh veggies and the best mushrooms, I would give it 10 stars if I...could. When I asked the manager of John Benny's Pub about it, she mentioned the cook is vegetarian and has this option and risotto. Well worth a visit here. Have a Guinness too!!More
Went here as it was recommended by our host. Food was meh, not even ok. Service was poor, food seemed to have been forgotten in the kitchen was it was slower than those around us, and not really hot. In spite of being 10 feet...and in clear view of the proprietor who was behind the bar, our empty glasses were ignored. So we paid and left. Place was not busy, maybe 1/3 full. Disappointed.More
We stopped in for an early dinner on a Friday. Was nice to avoid the crowds of later in the evening. We had the fish pie and seafood linguine, which were both very good. Service was pleasant and friendly.
We had just gotten off a boat and were very cold, and it was warm. The place was very busy, so I am giving it pass in hopes that it was just that. The waitress we had was very flat, and had zero sense of...humor, which seemed out of place. We got seated very quickly with no reservation though, so that was nice. They brought our drinks pretty fast, and then the food took a lot longer than expected. Food was ok, not the best, but not the worst. The chowder was filled with carrots and celery, and was less meaty than we found other places. The kids meal choices were good, and serving sizes were good too. It was hard to get the attention of the waitress, and when we ordered desserts they never came, so after 35 min we asked for our bill and left. We ended up getting ice cream at Murphy's, so no regrets there! I would be willing to try it again at a less busy time. All in all, a safe bet.More
We made several visits to John Benny's and enjoyed every one of them. The lovely Trina waited on us and provided excellent service! I got to sample part of their great selection of Irish Whiskies as well as a local red ale. The fish and...chips as well as their toasties were excellent! The atmosphere is wonderful and gave me what a pub is supposed to feel like! I can't wait to go back!More
Great meal on a cold wild day. Very friendly and great service. Started with a Spinach Soup and Sour Cream.
John Benny's was recommended by our B&B host. From arrival to fond farewell we were treated to a wonderful Irish Experience: amazing seafood (locally sourced), and excellent drinks (Smithwicks ale and Dingle gin). The mussels were superb, as were the fish and chips. The staff...were excellent. We enjoyed it so much we returned to an equally positive experience the next night. John and his well trained staff made us feel snug and at home by the fire on a windy, rainy evening. If you're looking for an authentic Irish Experience, John Benny's is for you!More
Wow! Great place recommended by our tour guide for a lunch stop in Dingle, Ireland. The best seafood chowder soup l’ve had. It was hearty, filling and simply delicious and way better than what l had in Pier 39 in SF. Though service was bit...slower, it more than made up with the friendly service, great local vibe( though in the touristy street) and the taste and freshness of their fish and chips and of course their chowder seafood soup. Highly recommendef!!!More
My wife and I had two visits to John Penny's- the first on a Saturday night when we couldn't book anywhere else locally and the second by choice given how pleased we were with the first visit. On the first visit I had the fish...pie while my wife had the fish and chips. On the second, we both had the Irish sausages. The food was of good quality, very reasonably priced and the service was outstanding in a casual and welcoming atmosphere. A great selection of beer, wine, and after dinner Irish whiskeys so it's a place where you might want to visit with friends who are looking for a fun evening rather than a fancy, quiet setting. Other guests were relaxed as were we and lively conversations with people from all over the world just added to the evening.More
We were having trouble finding a place for lunch after site seeing on Slea Head drive. All the other places had stopped serving food, but this place was still serving lunch. Menu was limited, food was just ok.
