Was disappointed after reading the reviews, had the duck which was good perfectly on the outside but well done on the inside and tough. The lamb tagine was bland. Loved how the waitress corrected my pronunciation of Reisling which was poor. The atmosphere was good...experience for the food quality.More
Booked table for 5. 3 adults, 2 teenagers. One had a birthday that night and we were allowed bring a cake with us. Had to request dressing for starters as they were bone dry, just leaves on the plate with tiny piece of inedible pork....Mains were not too bad but head serving staff was incredibly rude when she asked if we enjoyed our stater and we said we didn't . Birthday ake was finally brought to the table for dessert, candles blown out and then we waited and waited. Had to ask staff to cut the cake - instead they gave us a knife in a cup of hot water to cut a sponge cake and some soup spoons to eat it with. We had to request desert forks. Waitress said this is what they use for dessert. The evening was totally ruined by bad food and even worse service. No apology from staff. Our meal was booked for 6.30 and place was not full so I don't think it was a staffing issue. Will never return.More
We’ve visited here during the food festival in Dingle and were so excited to find it open for lunch. What a rude awakening it was. The fish casserole was bland and watery - too many vegetables and not enough fish. The wine we ordered was...out of stock so we were offered another. Customers appear to be expected to fend for themselves. We found it expensive and underwhelming- poor service and poor food. If lunchtime offering can’t be the same standard as the evening then don’t open at lunchtime!!!More
Terrible place. Hated every second of it. There were literally spiders and a slug on the table. Terrible foreign workers and no variety on the menu. €28 for a steak that i ate in 2 bites. Would love it so much if this place closed...down.More
Having just completed Day 2 of the Dingle Way this was an ideal spot to rest and refuel. Tables on street on a sunny day provide an ideal location to watch the world go by.
Just ate here..coffee and bagel with cream cheese. They also serve lots of casual day time meals including breakfast pastry and desserts. Bagels come with lots of sandwich fillings but the staff was happy to make me a toasted bagel with cream cheese. The bagels...have the canonical sturdy, crunchy crust of a great bagel, with a tender but solid interior. Excellent!More
Quick late dinner on the outdoor part of the restaurant. Of course food is quite different from the one you get indoor, but still pretty good!
Love this place. Ate there twice recently in a week as wanted to try other items on the menu. Every dish is carefully thought out and beautifully balanced with what I would call a 'theme' and then some subtle flavour nuances on top. All local...produce and proud of it. We were 4 and everyone raved about it. Kids came first night and ate Scallops and then monkfish which they loved. Staff were really friendly and knowledgable. Owner Martin even came out to say hello and asked how we were enjoying our meal. It's small and cosy. Would love if there were a couple of other Sauvignon blanc choices on WL, but had lovely wines on both nights. Don't miss out eating here if you enjoy really clever, good food.More
Visited the Global Village on 7th August for our anniversary. We have been there many times and enjoyed the experience.Sadly, this time we did not. The food for the most part was ordinary and scarce. The bread at the start was not as it was...two years ago.The starter was good. The main courses came with a tiny potato slice and extra veg and potato was priced at 4 euro each. A glass of wine was 9.50 and was barely half a small glass. The expressos were cold Price had gone way up and quality was way down.. Disappointing really. Patrick McEvoyMore
Excellent food and wine, was in foodie heaven with the Scallops and Lamb, Lovely Staff, that were knowledgeable, attentive and friendly, Very accommodating in getting us booked in at the last minute, especially under the current circumstances. I would highly recommend this delightful restaurant.
Visited in July on first night of opening. Notwithstanding teething problems with any first night of re-opening the initial seating placement had us sitting right in front of an open door, although on requesting a change of seating we were initially told tables needed sanitising...before I said we would have to leave as my partner would be unable to sit it a constant draught. On ordering we were not asked if we wanted any sides with our food which was disappointing. Staff were clearly under pressure on what was a Fawlty Towers style night for them but I feel this is down to poor organisation on management's behalf. Turning to the food, it was just OK and far from what you would expect from a restaurant with such supposed credentials. Far too overpriced also and in general the atmosphere was in word 'stuffy'. It was the most disappointing of a three day visit to Dingle and changes will need to be made. However, the one good point is that the wine selection was excellent. Would I return? I might but not without a certain amount of trepidation.More
The food here is tasty but it is overpriced for what you get. Currently comes in a box, service was pretty fast (food ready in 15 mins). Worth a visit if you need something quick.
Had seen reviews and decided to try it. Was a cool evening so asked could we get a table where it was warm. Seated us immediately in the bar area - comfortable and warm. Menu is limited and comes in a box but it's worth...it. So tasty and genuine food. It's street food but don't think it's 'fast food' as you know it cause it's not. Food was ready in about 15 mins n the bar staff were really efficient all evening. Really enjoyed the whole experience n look forward to going back when the full menu will be available n indoor dining back as normal. Well done Global Village!More
Due to Covid restrictions restaurant was able to work only in cooperation with the neighbour-bar. They have joined forces, and it was worth it. The simplified menu did not compromise the taste of the food. Well-seasoned local produce, fresh fish, tender beef, lovely crispy polenta...and a flavorful side salad made me curious, what the Global Village is like in a full form. I will be back when this craziness is over.More
