Had seen reviews and decided to try it. Was a cool evening so asked could we get a table where it was warm. Seated us immediately in the bar area - comfortable and warm. Menu is limited and comes in a box but it's worth...it. So tasty and genuine food. It's street food but don't think it's 'fast food' as you know it cause it's not. Food was ready in about 15 mins n the bar staff were really efficient all evening. Really enjoyed the whole experience n look forward to going back when the full menu will be available n indoor dining back as normal. Well done Global Village!More
Due to Covid restrictions restaurant was able to work only in cooperation with the neighbour-bar. They have joined forces, and it was worth it. The simplified menu did not compromise the taste of the food. Well-seasoned local produce, fresh fish, tender beef, lovely crispy polenta...and a flavorful side salad made me curious, what the Global Village is like in a full form. I will be back when this craziness is over.More
Stumbled across this place walking around Dingle and they kindly squeezed two of us in on a busy Saturday evening. Outdoor beer garden style seating areas which feels super safe during covid times. We got the burger and the prawn curry and both were delicious...as was the aperol spritz from Curran’s! Will definitely be back.More
'Street food' at restaurant prices. I ordered the pulled pork only to be told afterwards that it was all gone, that is no problem so opted for the lamb. It was awful, cold, served in a box with wooden cutlery as were all the meals...as this is so called street food. My fellow diners had a burger which in the menu is stated as being served on a Blaa. What arrived was more like a burger bun bought from the supermarket down the road. €15.00 is a joke.
One of our party had the Hake and chips which was fine, except for the price which should really be for a proper restaurant with a plate.
The pints from Currans were grand!More
My partner and I went to Dingle for my birthday during the pandemic and were unsure if we were going to be able to find a place for a snack and a drink. Then we stumbled on this absolute gem! We had the pork bao...and basically licked our boxes clean. We just kept saying "every single thing was delicious." There were a number of sides including chickpeas, deep fried cauliflower, marinated apple and cous cous. We walked in at 5pm hoping against hope that there would be space, and they seated us right away. They have an adorable little hatch where you can order food. They have teamed up with the pub next door so they have a full range of drinks available with table service and the staff are amazing for coming to check on you. We never needed to look up to find them! Even though all their staff were wearing masks, you could tell that they were serving drinks and food with a smile. I cannot praise them highly enough. To create an atmosphere like they have under the restrictions that they have to work with, they should be very proud. Thank you for the wonderful food and a wonderful experience!More
Overall such a disappointing experience. Firstly the hostess couldn’t locate our booking which was fine but we were pushed aside rudely and she really went out of the way to prove that the error was on our part, I personally didn’t think she was suited...to a front of house type of role. Aside from that all could have been forgiven had the food been up to the standard we were expecting and looking forward to but it was really bad, not even good street food! This is not a restaurant experience, there aren’t any menus, you order from a hatch like a takeaway, no starters or desserts much to my disappointment! We had a beautiful 3 course meal the evening before in a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a fabulous lunch the following day so there are definitely much better places to eat in Dingle. My recommendation is to spend your hard earned money and precious time in another establishment. Siobhán.More
I have been to this restaurant prior to the current covid restrictions and found it to be a lovely restaurant with good food. However this time they teamed up with the pub next door and seating in the pub and outside which was fine.
The...fod however was disappointing. My wife ordered the beef which came as 2 thin strips. I had fish. All the food was provided in cardboard boxes with disposable cutlery.
While you have to admire their attempt to keep business I feel their attempt is a failure as their name will suffer. I visit Dingle usually twice a year and certainly won't visit The Global Village again.More
