Great food, brilliant service. Just a lovely evening : ) We callled the day before for an early reservation at 6.30 - opted for the chicken with polenta and basil - beautifully presented and the portion size was just enough to leave space for the...Lemon tart !More

Earlier this week, my family and I celebrated my birthday in the Lime Tree Restaurant, while we were visiting Kenmare. We were welcomed by a lovely, polite woman who showed us to our table, took our drinks order and made sure we had a drink...in hand, before making pleasantries and walking us through the specials - it was a very nice beginning to our evening. The food came out in good time and was cooked to perfection - I had the Scallops special to start - they were the size of scones and melted in your mouth. I had the lamb for mains and this was gorgeous as well. My mum and brothers were also really happy with their meals, and our biggest complaint was that it would be too long between now, and our next opportunity to eat in the Lime Tree. We had wine for dessert, and our server had a clearly comprehensive knowledge of the wine list and picked wines, well suited to our taste. I really look forward to dining in the Lime Tree again, and my recommendation to anyone visiting for the first time, would be to make a booking for the following night as well.More

On January 2nd I had the most wonderful banquet of a meal in The Lime Tree. Kenmare… It was so warm and cosy to get in out of the rain… We were warmly welcomed by the Owners Daughter, She showed us to our table and...promptly brought the menus, We Ordered our drinks and Food…and boy oh boy …it was DELICIOUS!! Fresh Prawn Cocktail x2 Goat croquets Smoked salmon .. All presented beautifully !! Main course was Lambx2 Free range chicken Sole on the bone .. Amazing mashed potatoes Fresh carrots We were tempted to share a desert… Devine .. And finished with Irish Coffee.. Wowzer What a fantastic Meal… The chef came to our table… we would have stood up and applauded him and his Team.. but I thought he would be embarrassed .. I have eaten there on 2 previous occasions …and the standard has continued to be consistently excellent… Well worth the trip from Dublin to Kenmare, It’s The Louis Copeland of Resturants!!! A disappointing experience. Very little service from staff. Courses hastily put in-front of us after we ordered. Bread and starters brought at same time. Obvious that starters were pre-made and refrigerated. Main courses very poor (over-cooked). Staff barely spoke / never asked us how our...food was, just removed the plates after each course. No offer to refill drinks or wine. Asked for the bill before dessert. Wouldn’t recommend. Many far better venues to eat in Kenmare that cost less. Over-priced and disappointing experience at Christmas. Unfortunate to have to leave such a negative review.More

This is a very nice little restaurant in Kenmare that was significantly better on all counts than other, higher rated restaurants we ate at in other parts of Ireland. The food was excellent, creative dishes that were artfully presented. The service was very professional. Our...server was busy but she never acted as such and never rushed us through our meal. The interior was homey with a nice energy but not too loud. Highly recommend.More

My husband and I had a great meal here last Monday evening. We always wanted to try the Lime Tree and we weren’t disappointed. It was very busy which is a great sign on a Monday evening. Every course was just lovely and the chef...came out to have a chat with everyone which is a lovely touch. When we are back in Kenmare we will be calling again. Can’t wait!More

We are here when staying nearby for the night. I live it when there is not a vast menu as indicates food is freshly prepared. Choice of approximately 4 starters and main courses together with specials too. Food was plentiful and so very good as...was the service. Highly recommend.More

Our family of 6 had a wonderful meal at The Limetree last night. Food, service, wine, ambience was all faultless. The Scallops and Black Sole specials were to die for. We all enjoyed every morsel of our various dishes. Crepes for dessert - sublime. Booking...is essential here - it's busy, but we were not rushed, nor did the room feel overcrowded. Highly recommended! Thank you Mike and team for such an enjoyable dining experience.More

From the time of arrival to the time we left, was super service, relaxing atmosphere, really conducive to dining and beautifully presented and tasting food. Food where you could taste the individual elements of the dish and blended.A beautiful touch was that the Chef (&...Patron!) went around to check in with people as to how they were finding everything. I thought it was one the classiest touches I'd seen done anywhere! Staff were so lovely to my friend and myself and went to the trouble of singing "Happy Birthday" whilst serving dessert to the table (with candle!) On leaving the beautiful 'old school' building was glowing and lit up,uniquely beautiful......Travelled from West Cork to the 'Kingdom' to celebrate and so so glad I did! Memorable in everyway! Thank you and see you all again soon!More
