An understated looking venue but the food is first class. Everything was delicious, possibly or probably the best restaurant in Kenmare. Service was also excellent, even during a very busy service. Decent wine list. Definitely recommend.

This is a wonderful dinning experience in Kenmare. The restaurant is cosy and quaint, staff friendly and efficient, menu offers good choices and every dish we had was excellent. In a town with great choices, Lime Tree is special.

Using locally sourced ingredients The Lime Tree has certainly shown how food should be showcased!! Faultless from starters to dessert, well done Mike and team. We had a most enjoyable evening dining on a 5 star gourmet menu served by and looked after by such...friendly staff! Delicious breads and tapenade arrived, a lovely complimentary touch, followed by a crisp duck croquette, sirloin steak and the duo of lamb were just so flavoursome and the presentation was a picture "on a plate". The crepes light and moreish!! A crisp Savignon Blanc was nicely chilled. Nice to meet Mike and Lisa!!More

A quite exceptionally good evening, with both the excellent calibre of the meal, the nice touches (and proper napkins), and the ambience of this well-adapted historic building working well together.

Excellent food and ambience. A great choice for a family celebration. We were a party of 3 and all had two courses as we hadn’t room for dessert! We had prawn cocktail, duck croquette and Calamari starters and we ate every morsel on our plates....2 of us followed up with the lamb dish. The mini shepherds pies were packed with flavour and the rack of lamb was delicious. The third member of our party had a delicious steak cooked to perfection. The service was fabulous; friendly and knowledgeable and the chef had a chat later in the evening. All and all a beautiful meal.More

We were in Kenmare for 4 nights and this was by far and away the most outstanding restaurant, The food is high quality perfectly cooked and presented. Among the dishes we had were calamari, goat's cheese and beef - all great. Companion has the desert...crepe - and in her view it was incomparable. Great buzz in the restaurant and very professional and friendly staff who seemed to be genuinely enjoying being there.( I know that can't be true but it says a lot). A great night.More

I have been to this restaurant on a couple of occasions and always loved it, the food, service and environment were always excellent. On this occasion we were so disappointed. I booked this weeks in advance and received a confirmation from Mike Casey. We travelled...from Dungarven (167 km) and booked a hotel for the night. However when we arrived it was closed. No email, no text message, no cancellation information what so ever. I called - but no answer and no way to leave a message, I emailed and no response. I don't know if this restaurant is still in business! It is common in Ireland for restaurants to open only Thursday to Sunday (since the pandemic) which is why I booked (it was a Wednesday night). It used to be great, I am not sure what has happened.More

We, another couple & ourselves, dined here a couple of weeks ago. Really friendly & efficient staff. The restaurant is a lovely old, former school, building within a stones throw of the town centre & is beautifully preserved. The food was very fresh, as you’d...expect, and beautifully prepared & presented. I had the calamari starter & the Hereford sirloin, both of which I can recommend My only gripe would be that although our booking was for 8pm, which I believe is the second sitting, and we were there on time we, and several other groups, were made to stand outside in the drizzle while the previous diners finished their meals & paid. Not the best start but the food & service made up for itMore
