What a find! Our favourite place to eat during our week at Kenmare. Absolutely perfectly cooked and wonderfully tasting food…prawns & hake for me. My friend had the duo of lamb which she said was to die for. We had a wee incident with the...hot gravy but far from detracting from our enjoyment, it enhanced it because it enabled good friendly banter with our lovely wait person. An Excellent evening. Divine food.More

This was recommended to us by Paul Brown, our tour guide. Quaint setting, very good food and friendly staff. If you want a step above pub food (which is great in Kenmare), this is it. The Lamb is great

This restaurant is not to be missed when visiting Kenmare. From the cosy, characterful building itself, to the excellent service and highest standard of food, it’s an absolute treat! The scallops starter was out of this world and beautifully presented and the hake was perfectly...cooked and flavoursome. The lamb was cooked pink as it should be and was melt in the mouth. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.More

I was a bit disappointed with our meal here last week. The service was cold and aloof and the food was average - frozen prawns and a fillet steak that had a €6.00 supplement on an already expensive 2 or 3 course menu which if...good you don't mind paying the extra, but we got the tail end of the fillet, so tough and not that pleasant to eat. Desserts did make up for it as they were delicious but overall a disappointing meal,More

We had a fabulous meal here before Christmas. It was beautifully decorated, warm and cosy. We were seated upstairs beside the balcony which gave us a lovely view of everything upstairs and downstairs. The staff were friendly, professional and very efficient. The prawn cocktail starter...was excellent. I had the hake for my main coarse and my partner had the steak, both the flavour and presentation were delicious. We shared the crepes for dessert, nearly fighting over it as it was to die for. I’m really looking forward to eating there again when we return to Kenmare.More

Had an excellent Dinner on the night of the 1st of October 2021. The food was superb. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Michael Casey even took time out from a busy kitchen to welcome us. The man is a culinary genius.

Amazing food with a genuine friendly and very attentive staff. We made a late booking as we didn’t arrive to Kenmare until late Friday night. The staff we so friendly and paid attention to the finest details. Food was exceptional although the black pudding starter...was slightly plain that was my opinion everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meal and we all agreed that the food was amazing. I have no doubt in saying restaurant owners and staff should visit the lime tree, they might learn a few things, they really excel in hospitality. Thank you and we will most definitely return.More

Beautiful atmosphere. Fabulous food. Excellent service. 2 courses. More than enough. Best scallops I'd had in a long time. Nice to see the roe left on the scallops. Proper veg. Not over cooked. Not drowned in butter like alot of places.

I visited The Lime Tree and found the food and service to be excellent. Ambiance lovely and very friendly staff. The one downside was it was very cold in the restaurant. I mentioned this as there was a back door open and the waitress closed...this door. It stopped a wind blowing against my back but the area was still quite cold for the remainder of the meal. This was the only issue I had as everything else was absolutely superb the temperature did effect our visit.More
