Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This restaurant was recommended by our B&B host. The food was really delicious and special so we would definitely go back. But we did have some snafus with the service/staff. We arrived on time for our reservation and were told they were not quite ready...for us, staff member suggested we go for a walk or go across the street for a drink (at a pub) and she said she would come to get us. We did not mind this, went across the street, had a lovely chat with the bartender and some customers, and waited patiently. 30+ mins later they still had not come for us so we walked over to check and the same staff member said she had forgotten about us. She apologized and then sat us. It took a while before they took our order and while our first course came out quickly, there was a long lag between first and the second. We don't know for sure, but it appeared they were understaffed like many other restaurants in Ireland. The two waitresses we saw were very busy moving quickly and urgently, to the point of taking a little away from the cool/cozy atmosphere. Anyway, if we lived in the area we would definitely go back (the good was worth the issues), but we want others to know that a delicious meal may require you to take your patience pill.More

Set menu only. Food was excellent, beef cheek lovely and tender and parmesan potatoes were delicious. Only complaint was we were sitting inside the door on a cold night and the staff kept leaving the back door open which caused a draft. There were no...other tables available so kept out coats on . Food is pricey but worth it.More

Had dinner mid June. Delicious. Sea bass and beef cheeks were outstanding. As was the bowl of new potatoes. All vegetables were very good. Warm unusual atmosphere.

Had a family meal here last night and it was amazing. The food, the service and the ambience were all top class and could not be faulted. We had duck and fish cake starter, beef cheek and cod for main and panne cotta and chocolate...tart for dessert. It was all so delicious and the mix of flavours and attention to detail was stunning. Will definitely be looking for another excuse to come back here soon 😁More

Absolutely delicious meal, we had the fishcakes, duck, cod and beef and everything was stunning. Will definitely be coming back. Far better than anything available in Tralee at the minute! And in such a stunning location 10/10

We had dinner for 2 - braised cheeks, which we have not had before and they were very tasty, as were the vegetables and mash! There were interesting books on poetry and Castle Gregory to browse on. The service was great and venue very traditional...irish.More

You got to hand it to Frankie & team for the best food in West Kerry. Did I use a full stop?? 😉 Seriously, it’s a delight to have this restaurant on our door stop.

This place doesn't get the hype it deserves. Top-class food that you would expect to pay at least twice as much for, coupled with friendly service in a charming setting. We have been three times this Summer and it's never let us down - whether...it's been a date night or an evening out with a few friends. Can't recommend it enough!More

We had such a lovely meal in the Milesian last week. The food was top class, nice neat portions and fresh ingredients. Their outside area is lovely with loads of character and the service was great. Couldn’t fault it. I’m going back this month!

We ate three exceptional courses the night we visited last week. Each course was thoughtfully prepared, well presented and expertly cooked. The beef in particular was exceptional. It was as good a meal as I’ve ever had and very reasonable @ €35 for three courses....Frankie and his team are doing something special here, Castlegregory and West Kerry are lucky to have them.
