This is a lovely gem of a place. Really relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent. The food was delicious, just could have served the salad in a separate bowl. We be back again
Being from Germany, we didn't realize that today was Mother's Day in Ireland. Today, Spillane's was using a Special Mother's Day menu, we went with a Calamari Appetizer, followed by the Fish & Chips and Chicken Kiev. The Calamari was really good, the two main...courses were good. The ice cream cone for desert was very good!!More
We stopped for a coffee and while there was a private function they looked after us for coffees, much to the dismay of others who wanted same.
I would like to visit again when next in area as menu does look good.
This is a great gastropub out in the Maharees a short drive from Castlegregory. Great food great staff and great service. It’s the best place in the whole area for good family friendly service. The food is really well prepared and presented and also good...value. If you are in the area Spillanes is a must.More
We had been advised to book Spillanes & we got the last available slot for the night when we booked on line. The pub was busy & atmospheric but very efficiently run by friendly professional staff who could not have been more helpful or attentive....Our food was delicious & portions generous. We dined indoors & tables were well spaced apart & there was excellent ventilation. Toilets spotless. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening out. Thank you!More
Brilliant family restaurant. We had booked to be outside but it was getting cold and we asked if we could switch to inside. Not a problem. Vaccination checks carried out smoothly and quickly using an iPad. Needing GF I asked what I could eat and...the lovely waitress said they could modify the fish starter and give me crab claws! They were brilliant. Very fishy menu, all outstanding. When time came for dessert I said, "I see you have an old Italian Ice Cream maker, does it work?" Of course was the reply. Well, old fashioned Ggelato al Cioccolato all round - and it was superb.More
Total chaos. Orders are made over the phone by paying by credit card and this is already absurd. The waiters just forget some tables. People sitting outside in the cold. Bad burger, cold and tasteless.
Disastrous!
We turned up and knew we were taking a chance with no reservation. They were so welcoming despite how busy they were and we ended up having an incredible meal .
Mussels to start , monkfish special as the main and a pint of Guiness...! Just lovely !!
Service was excellent , same person dealt with us the whole way trough the meal and could not have done more
The banofie with the infamous whipped ice cream topped us off nicely
We’ve been coming here for years and this lived up to our previous experiences .More
Grace was our server and she was fantastic . Food was delicious, atmosphere was great and location is amazing. Nicest veg curry my wife ever had . The burger is also delicious. Would definitely come again.
We followed the reviews on Tripadvisor and booked a table for dinner. The food is good there, especially the Hake burger! The quality and quantity of the food are great. The staff is young and friendly. She gave us some very useful information. The view...outside the bar is exceptional. Just be careful that the bar is closed on Tuesday and only starts serving food from 4pm.More
