Hello everybody I frequently visit this establishment and have to say its great Good food quality you 100% get what you pay for. Cakes, sandwiches, dinners, breads, scones, salads. I love John Rs. Recently they have been move inventive with graze boxes dessert boxes etc...so would definitely recommend trying one. Their apple pies and crumbles are to die for. So are their meringues roulade from the front counter. They are also growing their presence on Instagram which is handy because I always now know what's available before I go in on the day so Ive decided what I want which makes my visit nice and quick for social distancing. Lovely staff there too. Support local.More
As eating al fresco is now the new norm, we ordered a picnic basket from John Rs in Listowel! The picnic basket included a cooked chicken, a selection of fresh salads, beautiful homemade bread along with delicious desserts! All these treats were beautifully presented in...a traditional picnic basket! I would definitely reccomend availing of this service for your next outdoor excursion!More

Today for my lunch break I went to John R's coffee shop& bakery. I ordered sandwiche the girl that served me never ask me if I wont take away or stay in and eat, I also got a muffin and a drink. I paid for...my food and I sat at the table. After a minute man the owner of the shop came to me and said that I paid for take away food so I have to live . I could not say anything because I was shocked. I packed my sandwiche and I got out. I felt discriminated, sad& angry. I didn't know that they charge extra mony to eat in.Inside wasn't busy there was three empty tables.More
Was traveling to West Kerry lately and stopped off at John R's - surely a piece of heaven. Staff are most pleasant and attentive. Quality of food is both superb and reasonably priced. Will be calling again to this oasis of food.
Probably the most expensive place in town for a simple tea/coffee and a bun! Ive tried them all . Staff are pleasant and respectful to everyone and there is a nice variety of food on display.
A poached egg. Obviously I was hoping for poached egg and spinach but definitely the poached egg. A friend had been raving about John R's so it seemed a fitting time to go visit. The menus came to the table that was chipped and worn...and no breakfast items at all were to be found. Weirdly my trip advisor app was suggesting I read reviews for John R's. From what I can gather if you stay in the B&B you get breakfast served here where I am sitting and it is fresh and divine. But if you like me walk in off the street - no eggs available. Anyway we ordered an Americano, tea, brown scone and home made brown bread. The coffee was lovely, very aromatic and they came with little biscuits that seemed to be home made. It was quite a long wait before the scone and bread arrived. The bread was dense and of substance and the scone of equal weight. It was okay but won't be returning. And a bit overpriced to my mind but I don't have anything locally to compare it to.More
Nice little café, food is tasty, and staff are friendly. Wide selection of food at the counter and a lot of locals.
Stayed here for one night with adult kids. We were all surprised at the very high standard of the accommodation and the genuine value for money,as we have tended to stay in hotels in recent years and have been a bit wary of choosing the...B/B option. We need not have worried ,the accommodation was amazing, better than a lot of hotels and our host Pierce went the extra mile and rang me to verify the allocation of rooms from a double to two twins as we are a family of 6.It seems nothing was too much trouble in making our stay most enjoyable. The property is so central with parking outside. The breakfast next morning was cooked to order and again the staff were so friendly and accommodating particularly to my daughters who required their porridge made dairy free. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night.More
