After recommendation by a friend we decided to try The Red Lion for an early evening meal in November. Our first impression was of a traditional English Pub, with several small rooms all full of locals/farmers and hikers giving a busy thronging atmosphere. The fires were lit on a cold windy evening and the atmosphere picked up a little of... More

This is an excellent pub to call into if you are on one of the many hikes in the area that pass through or near Litton. The steak and ale pie was packed with meat and surrounded by a crusty pastry, and a choice of chips or mash was offered. Peak Ales and Abbeydale Brewery (Sheffield) beers were available on... More

The Red Lion is a on the green in Litton, with parking. Inside it's cosy and attractive with friendly staff. The menu is small but contains some tempting choices - we had slow roasted belly pork with black pudding mash and delicious creamed leeks. The beers are lovely too.

Fantastic. Worth it. If you are having a nice day out and think about grabbing something to eat, I suggest you go there. The food is great. The pub itself is very nice and cosy.

Enjoyed excellent food in a warm and buzzy atmosphere. The Red Lion burger is perfect every time and the Absolution Ale on draught is fab!

Walked here from Tideswell for dinner, having pre-booked as we were advised to do. The bar is very small, allowing just one person to serve behind it. This means queues. Space was at a premium in the room where we were seated - we were uncomfortably close to our neighbours, who'd taken their places before us but were served behind... More

Enjoyable food; good selection of beers. Very dog friendly - they even supplied blankets for the dog to lay on. Advise booking if you want to eat there in the evening. There is seating outside.

This is a delightful spot! We had just walked around the 5 dales from Tideswell and we were quite hungry and thirsty. The Red Lion's staff came up with the goods, even at the lateish hour of 3 p.m. The beer and the beef sandwiches were great!

As we were staying just a couple of miles away from the Red Lion we decided to eat there and ended up going twice in the week. This is a small, traditional, village pub and serves a mixture of tourists and locals. Both are well catered for and the landlady makes everyone feel very welcome. There's a good selection of...
