Located on the village green we are in idyllic location for beautiful family photos whatever occasion. We are close to the River Eden for those wanting photos in a more rural setting with stunning scenery, backdrops and one of the best salmon fishing rivers in the country. For those who would like to get married within the area, we are in short stroll to Wetheral church. A delightful small country church, it is the perfect place to tie the knot with a loved one. Guests staying within the area will find a number of appealing areas of interest including the Roman Wall, Carlisle Cathedral and Carlisle Castle. Wetheral also has plenty of historic areas of interest including Wetheral priory gatehouse,

I totally understand that these businesses need to try and recoup lost income but... seriously this place is so overpriced for quality and size of portions served. Massively overpriced average wine too Its a shame as the staff were lovely. Less greed quailty and they...will easily get back their lost income.More

Do not visit here if you want to experience rude staff and shocking service. Will not be returning again

Recently visited fantails with a group of friends and have came away with multiple bills with things that weren’t ordered or asked for. The total of the bills is completely ridiculous considering we were only there for a few hours. Definitely staff trying to take...advantage of people where they could. Would recommend everyone keeps a note of their bills and items they’d had in the future.More

Just got back from collecting a takeaway from fantails, the food was remarkable. I had the burger one of the best ever, home made, succulent just perfect. The fish and chips was as good as any ever had before. So well done Fantails and to...see you open, producing such good quality, takeaway food during these times. Can’t wait for the restaurant to open ‘proper’ 👍😄More

Hands down the nicest fish and chips in Carlisle. Propper fresh fish (not frozen) beer battered Haddock with scrumptious chips and mushy peas. 10/10!

We had a weekend away and stayed in a nearby B&B where the owner recommended and booked a table for us at Fantails. We arrived at 8pm on a busy Friday night and were given our socially distanced table. Staff all wore masks, gel near...all the doors, check in forms on the tables etc All the staff were a delight but the food was fantastic. We had a festive turkey main with roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, vegetables etc and it was so nice. In fact the food was so good we returned on the Saturday night ! On the second night my partner went for steak and I had the nicest lamb I have ever been served. The food was just excellent. Well worth a visit, or two !More

We visited Fantails on Friday and had the most amazing evening. The food was beautiful, I had the prawns and sea bass and my husband had the fillet steak which he described as the best steak he had tasted. For us it was the full...experience , we spent the full evening there , never felt rushed and always felt welcome. COVID safety was clear with all safety precautions in place however it still felt ‘normal’ , for a few hours we forgot the craziness of what’s happening in the world and just had a lovely time. Gorgeous food , wine , fantastic service and cosy surroundings what more could we ask for on a autumn evening. Will definitely be back , thank you xxMore
