Yet again the 'Cory' has succeeded in providing us with a fantastic meal and several pints at a reasonable cost. Landlord Trevor and Landlady Lindsay together with the regulars are most welcoming and make you feel as if you have been going there for years.

Rough edges, a bit down at heel but still the quintessential old Cornish village pub and a convenient escape from St Mellion golf complex or Cardinal's Hat motel.

Called in for a drink and to see what the place is like, and to be served by a very friendly and helpful barman, and also to be made very welcome by the landlord, who is plainly very proud of the fact his pub serves a well kept pint of ale.

Yes, I agree with other reviewers that this place is sadly in need of some TLC, but this is less important than the atmosphere and the welcome. We were greeted warmly, and made very welcome. The menu is quite limited, but the quality of the food is excellent, and extremely good value. A real old fashioned country pub.

Not flash, not modern or carefully maintained, just a friendly little village pub with helpful staff a modest menu and usually two or three very well kept ales. We have friends who live down by the river and this is convenient to them and us.

I couldn't work out if it was open! There was an agents sign outside but on enquiry I found this was for the house next door!. Perhaps it should have been put up for sale a long time ago as this place is dirty and the beer is poor. I wouldn't go back unless it changes hands soon.

Popped in having seen a sign off of the main road. It was a lunchtime and food was not available, except a cream tea! Had a pint & a packet of peanuts and moved on.

Read some of the colourful reviews and decided that we must come in one evening. It is a proper country pub. No fancy accessories or silliness, just a rural hostelry for drinking in and have a great time. We will be back.

Last visit a few days ago. Yes it's run down and could do with tens of thousands spent on maintenance and reupholstering but at its core, the conviviality, sincere welcome and general craic is just what we need. Quietly amused and not in any way put off by the recent low scores. What did any of those starchy folk expect,... More
