Visited Wheatsheaf Pub & Pantry during a busy Sunday lunch time, despite being very busy we didn't have to wait very long for food. The portions were generous and the home cooked food very good. Bar staff were excellent.

I've eaten here a couple of times recently before attending events in the pub. Large drinks choice and very reasonable prices. I've tried the battered halloumi and chips which was a very large portion and cooked just right, however I was hoping for some sort of dip such as sweet chilli to accompany the halloumi. That's probably just me thinking... More

We came in and found the most perfect table next to an open fire - just perfect. We ordered drinks and food which we haven't got any complaint about. We had the pate and then a fish finger sandwich and a beef sandwich. The decor was very nice too. We would definitely return.

Such a warm welcome from the barmaid, sampled one ale which sadly ran out, moved on to the pedigree which was on top form, treated the bar maid to a half to have after her shift as she had never tried it....Will be back.

Recently refurbished, the friendly ambience and quality of food makes The Wheatsheaf a good watering hole in Bakewell. We called in for lunch on a Friday half-term, expecting that it might be busy but – luckily for us – it wasn’t. The sandwiches we ordered – with proper, bakery bread – were just right, and the accompanying fresh salad was... More

Also home made coleslaw and garlic bread on fresh cut bread. It's the little things for me. Lunch we hand sandwiches and the bread was fresh cut and meet fresh hand carved.... More

Visited for an afternoon tea with a Groupon Voucher. The food was very good, the sandwiches fresh and tasty and the scones were particularly good. Staff were friendly and the service was excellent.

Booked a table for 4 for an early Valentines Celebration with Family. My booking was taken two weeks before , and the menu was a three course choice. We were seated just before our booking time and offered drinks . The staff were excellent, attentive, polite and extremely helpful throughout. Food was pre-ordered as this was a special Valentines menu.... More

This is the 3rd time we have eaten here and we cannot fault the food or service. Food is fresh, tasty and hot. Staff friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Today had the Valentine's special. 2 x 3 courses which included, mussels, steak and dessert, also the obligatory bottle of prosseco for the incredibly good value of £40. Highly recommended... More
