Been here quite a few times now and the food is always good, so decided to try the Christmas Fayre menu and booked a table for a group of 10 at the beginning of December. We were put in a room with just 2 big tables in it which was ideal. We ordered starters which were excellent. Our plates were... More

My husband & I stayed on Sunday night, 18th December 2016. After a full weekend of celebrating my 70th birthday with all the family, we decided on a quiet meal & night away. Having always wanted to visit the Ashford Arms, he decided to surprise me. We had a wonderful 3-course meal, slept in 4-poster bed & had a peaceful... More

Debbie and I stayed here Friday night and the whole experience was fantastic, the hotel was clean, the staff were very helpful and the evening meal was fantastic, (largest lamb shank I have ever seen). I would recommend this hotel.

For the time of year, the place had a very relaxed feel. All the staff were pleasant and most helpful. Food good, which all 8 of us enjoyed, and there was plenty.

Holidaying in Derbyshire we visited some of the places we found good on our visit last year. We found the ambience in the Ashford Arms much changed. The furnishings had been re arranged so it appeared stark and less cosy,The steak pies had obviously been under a hot light as they were near burnt around the edge of the dish.the portion... This establishment is more than large enough to cater for large parties / groups, potentially a good venue, as was a few years back. Your basic standard pub grub and that's about it, middle of the road at its best. Our orders were mixed up, too many starters, not enough mains and the pub was quiet on this weekday night.... More

spotted the village from the A6 and well worth a visit, we did try the Bull but it was full so went here instead. Good selection of food and drinks, really nice staff. Very much like the Cotswolds of the North

Service was abit slow but was busy ,the soup and main course was ok,but two of us had caramel apple crumble which was very small and hardly any custard on it I don't know if it was because it a winter warmer but I wouldn't won't to pay £4.75 for it
