We were advised to book for a special occasion so booked for birthday on a Sunday. Three courses for £29.95 it was great value for money. Every course was tasty and well presented. Staff attentive and polite. The real show stopper is the view we...were lucky to have a window seat over looking the StrandMore

We visited after receiving loads of recommendations and I can see why! Every meal was delicious and cooked to perfection. We will definitely eat here again. I recommend the rump of lamb and the lemon tart 😋

Ordered Irish corned chicken and it was very chewy. I then ordered medium rare 10oz steak which came more like well done. Not good enough! Wasn't offered anything to compensate the poor meal. Won't be returning!

Unreal food coupled with amazing staff and views to die for…we had the Sunday lunch and it was out of this world. Food so tasty and well presented, staff couldn’t do enough for us. Already planning our return visit!

We were a party of four on Saturday 7th August. We had four starters and four mains. Every single mouthful of food was delicious. We had a table at the window and the view was stunning. The whole experience from we arrived in until we...left was top drawer. All the staff were well trained and professional. I would like to give a special mention to Georgina who was exceptional.More

Our table of four all raved about their meal at Eighteen Ninety Four. We all had different starters, mains and desserts and everything was delicious. Definitely one of the pricier options in the Portstewart/Portrush area but worth every penny!!

We went for Sunday lunch, my wife and myself, on 25/07/21. Every aspect of our experience was totally positive. Service, food, ambiance and drinks. There was absolutely nothing could have been any better. We had the 3 courses, I added in an amazing sirloin steak,...glass of Pinot Grigio, pint of Guinness all for a tad over £80. Well worth every penny. Yip, we will happily return and would recommend it to any of my friends. Browns is a favourite for us when we are in Derry/Londonderry and 1894 certainly lives up to our very high expectations.More

Just had a beautiful meal here - my friend is still discussing the pork chop! The service was great, and so was the food. I’d the terrine then the hake - all superb! I recommend this restaurant- a hidden gem with a fine view to...engage you while you dine.More

Visited 1894 on Saturday 17th July after a year of sitting in. I was so excited but unfortunately was very disappointed. I had visited 4 times before and had recommended the restaurant to others but it was not good. I had requested a window seat...but got seated at the back even though window seats where available for the duration of our visit, however it is just a seat and does not affect the food. We both ordered the cured mackerel which was ok if you don’t mind smily skin however all the accompaniments where picked which lead to a very vinegary taste it definitely needed some sweetness. I then had medium cooked lamb which was over cooked which was fine however again the accompaniments where all cold, sour cream (buttermilk) and a chorizo flavoured tapenade (called smoked tomato chutney) which did not compliment the lamb. Overall for the restaurant everything was disappointing and mediocre not fine dining and definitely not what I expected going by pervious visits. The wine pairing did work well with each dish and also saved the starter as it provided a sweetness. Definitely will not be recommending again the north coast has a lot to offer and a lot more restaurants with more potential do not waste your money.More

Cooked by sun through window- blind was not working and it was a really warm evening. Staff obviously knew blind didn’t work as when we asked for it to be dropped we were told they couldn’t. The table should not have been used. The meal...was ‘ok’ but fell well below my expectations and not a patch on Browns bond hill from a food or service perspective. Staff not at the standard the price of the restaurant would need. Would definitely not returnMore
