Went to goosers with my partner last weekend, very disappointed as we would regularly go there, 9 things on the menu and only 6 were available, very limited and fish very bland, coffees were forgotten and desert was only average. The most annoying part was...for starter we had ordered wings, little did we know it was 3 wings per portion, one portion €7.90!! tasteless to top it off.
Wont be returning and will be finding a new spot.More
Call it as you find it! I read the bad recent reviews but my AirBnB host was a regular pre-lockdown, so we decided to take a punt. Our experience was good and I do not recognise the complaints of previous reviewers. We visited on a...damp Monday evening in early September; the tables were mostly occupied, the mature service was capable and friendly, our order timely and all dishes well presented, including the plaice which was cooked to perfection.
There were no obviously casual staff; clientele was mostly couples and mixed groups of four producing a pleasant and calm atmosphere. Restrictions were well observed by staff and clientele; for our anniversary dinner we had a good value evening out. I hope this review acts as a counter for those who clearly had a bad experience during a manic holiday period. I would certainly recommend Killaloe/Ballina visitors took take a look.More
I'd popped in to this restaurant on our route from cork and Tbh I enjoyed what we had and so decided when planning a special family occasion we decided to try Goosers, We arrived at the premises and directly inside the front door was the...cash register and all the person did was point to the table we were to sit at. and from behind a mask it took a little bit of figuring out where it was. seating was not comfortable ( a roped bench and given the dress attire the rope was more than uncomfortable through a light skirt. Food was only average nothing to really complain about but also nothing to write home about. We werent offered to see the menu for desert or coffee or tea, and when wed finished the drinks we had we paid up and left. an embarrassing occasion for myself given it was my choice of venue, I'll not be there again any time soonMore
Food was extremely poor and service was terrible. The chicken tarrine starter was deplorable. The plaice main had flour all over the fish and was undercooked. The chicken main was boiled and tasteless and the mash potatoes were burnt. Overall the food was dreadful, when...the food was collected after the meal, platefuls of food went back to the kitchen and nothing was said by the staff. At the end of the meal we tried to express our dissatisfaction which fell on deaf ears. Never again!More
Service so bad senior lady so rude and the food was desperate, younger girl was polite, however, in the current climate with business down and people nervous, going out for a meal trying to be normal should be a treat and a pleasant experience. I would...never return to Goosers, had a great reputation one time , but not now, so disappointing. Desperate service and terrible food.More
I went for tea and A snack with my sisters and mother. Very poor service and attitude from the server. We ordered three apple tarts and one Caeser salad. The apple tart came out looking very unappetizing. My mother asked the waitress about the tart,...and was informed that depite being 7 euro, the tart was made from tinned apples. The waitress Fidelma was very rude, telling my mother she was the first person ever to complain about the tart (doubtful) and that if she wanted to order another dessert she would have to pay for it. Fidelma then came back with the desert menu and left it on the table. We sat there for another twenty minutes and she did not come back to take her order. Overall it was 40 euro for three teas, 3 awful deserts and one Caeser. Definitely would not return, more so because of the attitude of the staff over anything else.More
I called into Goosers and went to the bar and asked the lady behind the bar (wearing a visor), who was very polite until I asked her could I use the bathroom at which point her tune changed. She informed me that toilets were for...customers only (which I completely understand) and I asked her could I please buy a bottle of coke which she replied that she'd have to get me a table and that she had none and her attitude was none to pleasant.
I completely understand that they are running a business and with times as they are things are tough but there was no need for her to speak to a pregnant lady like that.More
My son and 13 of his friends booked a table when they arrived 13 of them ordered a full meal and a pint each .one of the girls wasnt hungry so just ordered a portion of chips and a pint but they refused her the...pint because she wasnt spending €9on food even though there was 13 full meals ordered .If I was there I would have cancelled the whole order and leftMore
