Beautiful locally sourced food. Service excellent and without asking a special touch as it was my mums birthday. Lovely setting we had a chance to enjoy the terrace and finished our meal inside with coffee in the sofa area. Highly recommended.

Occupying the building that was the cafe/ shop of a former garden centre, this restaurant offers an excellent menu, well cooked and presented. Our scallops, turbot and pork fillet dishes were all very good. The white Rioja we had to accompany the fish was a...More

It’s taken a while to write this review after visiting in March for Mother’s Day. The setting is lovely and the service we received on the day was exemplary. The actual food was a bit hit and miss, but I must stress this was not...More

This was the restaurant’s first attempt at a food and wine evening. The theme was Spanish. The wines were very good as was the food and service. The main course was the weakest but still very good. It was a little dry although the flavours...More

There were lots of reviews of this place but we were disappointed. We had to wait quite a while for our menu let alone the food - we were there nearly an hour before starters came out, and even longer for plates to be cleared...More

We enjoyed a lovely two course lunch at Penrose Kitchen. Not an easy place to find for the first visit. The food was excellent and staff very pleasant, we will definitely go again.

We have now had lunch as a couple, an evening meal with friends and Sunday lunch with family. We can thoroughly recommend any and all of these options. The Sunday lunch menu has more traditional elements while the other menus are more adventurous. All the...More

Dear lizbrian Thank you again for yet another glowing review. It is always a pleasure to see you at any time of the day. As the warmer weather approaches (slowly) I will be adding more summery wines to the list keeping it interesting for our...More

We arrived early, but sat outside in the sun and had a drink. I had a mocktail which was delicious. We decided to retreat inside, and had a lovely private table. It was our first time here and I would recommend to anyone, it is...More

Dear GemBenBirkett Thank you for writing a lovely review of your recent experience at Penrose Kitchen. The timing was spot on with the weather enabling you to enjoy a pre-dinner drink outside on the decking. I'm glad that you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere-I think it...More
