Had one night in the area and the B&B owner called and got us in, otherwise they are fully booked. A wonderful fixed menu ... no need for choices. From start to finish you would have thought that you were in somebody's Nonna's kitchen ......I mean that EVERYTHING was AWESOMENESS on a plate. This was an absolutely amazing experience.More

The Osteria is located in a small quiet street and the people in the Osteria Cian De Bia are really pleasant. They don’t speak good english but it doesn’t really matter at all because the food is just so good. Therefore the food is the...star of the night, most definitely would recommend! You will get the real Italian food experience ;)More

Osteria Cian de Bia' is a hidden gem in the lovely medieval village of Badalucco. Great setting, lovely traditional Ligurian cuisine and a wine list to die for. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner for two but also for anyone who appreciates good food and...wine.More

Having visited Badalucco several times I was really pleased to be able to get a reservation this time. A beautiful little restaurant of stone in one of the tiny Badaluccan carrugi, Cian de Bia' feels like you've been invited into a friends home.... a very...good friend who can cook and knows wine! I had a truly lovely experience, the food and wine were out of this world and the chatter friendly and inclusive. It made absolutely no difference that I was eating alone or that my Italian language is very basic. The only small thing about this meal was the price. An absolutely lovely occasion to end my trip this time. (Thank you Mandi and Matteo for getting my reservation)More

I have been wanting to try this restuarant since they opend 5 yrs ago but since I live in America , i had to wait till my next trip back. Well that wait was finally over this year and I was not disappointed! Delicious!!!!! I...do suggest reservations , we were lucky to get in without them but it does get busy.It is a family run business and everything you eat is fresh and made at that moment. It is like you came over to family or a friends house for dinner and their mom is making the meal from scratch. i can not even remember how many courses there were but each one was so good. I can not wait to go back , hopefully sooner than 5 yrs . If i lived closer , i would eat here every weekend. Very friendly staff.More

Our second visit. Once again a great experience sampling local cuisine well prepared. Biggest challenge is working your way through the multiple courses. There is a standard set menu, highlights were the rabbit and snails. Good selection of wines and finished off with homemade limoncello....Very reasonably priced. Recommend calling to book.More

What a wonderful evening we had at this fabulous restaurant. The wine cellar was such a special experience, and the ambiance of the restaurant was very romantic. The food was authentic and delicious. We will definitely return when we visit this area of Italy again.

My wie and I live in the valley, and when we want to impress guests with the finest expression of Ligurian cuisine, we take them to Cian de Bia. Ivo, his wife, Fanca, and his son, Matteo, who is the former mayor of Montalto, a...nearby hill town, are consumate guides to the traditional cuisine of the Valle Argentina, exalted to a level that is world class. Their wine cellar is excellent, from local Rossese wines that go perfectly with each dish, to extraordinary Barolos and Barbarescos from neighboring Piedmont, whose producers are friends with Ivo. It's a sublime experience. I'm bringing friends this evening, once again, as Ivo and Franco always impress with their meals.More

If you have the privilege of eating at Osteria Cian de Bia’ you will never forget it because food here encloses ancient knowledge, family recipes and deep Liguria upcountry roots. Husband receiving and serving, wife in the kitchen working her magic is a winning combination...that makes you feel at ease and most welcomed. Osteria Cian de Bia’ is not a-la-carte, you will be served the menu of the day. If you are vegetarian do inform them when you book (a must if you want to find a table) and you will have one of your best meals.More
