I went here with my family on a Wednesday. We arrived early in the evening as we had 2 children in our group Our orders were taken promptly but the starters took almost an hour to arrive. The main meal came out about 45 minutes later. The whole meal took about 3 hours. The shame of it was that the... More

Very nice. Rooms are comfortable and staff are pleasant. The lodge is in a small village which is really pretty. Good value for money.

This is a great country pub and restaurant, I stayed here for about 2 weeks. Ate here on many nights, and the food was always excellent. Good selection of beers also. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. And the service from all the staff was first class. The cooked breakfast here deserves a special mention in my opinion. Great!... More

I dropped in here with my wife and daughter on a recent Sunday lunch at just after noon. I was on the way back to Bristol from the Forest of Dean and this visit was on the off chance. Although we hadn't booked I could see that it was busy but the staff were accommodating and squeezed us in. We... More

Service was good, the waitress was helpful about our food choices. The food arrived promptly and I can recommend the poached peaches for dessert.

On holiday and decided to go The George Inn for an evening meal out. Tasty homemade food, friendly staff and a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend for families or large groups. Definitely come here again next time. Free Wi-fi also.

Description
The Forester Newspaper 'Restaurant of the Year Finalist 2013' The Millingbrook Restaurant offers a wide range of fresh food from Lighter Bites to Traditional Home Cooked Meals. The George Inn prides itself on great service, an imaginative menu and we are Forest Famous for our value for money. The restaurant is open all year round and our garden is available during the summer months for al fresco dining. Our food is locally sourced whenever possible, for example our Meat is sourced from Fitzgerald's Butchers in Lydney, Cheese from Miller's in Newnham and we use the Finest Butter from Netherend Dairy Farm. Pre-booking is always recommended for evening meals and our Sunday Carvery.
