New owners, fresh décor inside, warm welcome and perfect food. Lovely couple now running this old established pub. It deserves a visit. Menu is wide and caters for everyone, and they are so kind and helpful. We will be back, and bringing friends to enjoy the welcome at the Red Lion

Staying at a nearby caravan site who recommended this cosy little restaurant. Recently under new management who were all lovely and very welcoming. Great potential for the new owners and feel that their new ideas of takeaways to local caravan sites is a fantastic idea. Menu was limited so be nice to see over time this expands as the food... First off the four stars are not a five as I did not stay over in one of the rooms so can't give an overall review. That said if the rooms are like the rest of the pub five stars would prevail. Great friendly welcome, good food and well kept beer. Clean and tidy. Second visit here and it won't... More

We stayed here for one evening as it was getting quite late. They had one room left so we were very lucky. The welcome that we received from all of the staff was outstanding and this was the standard throughout our stay. The new owners took over about 8 weeks ago and they are making changes so most of the... More

Called here at the end of a long journey and a frustrating experience at another hotel/pub. Initially food had stopped being served. However, the owners were sympathetic to our dilemma and two well cooked steaks arrived very quickly. The chef was very friendly and we had a lovely chat before he served his wonderful strawberry meringue. Will definitely be back... More

We stayed for 3 nights. Lovely old pub and the owners are really welcoming and friendly, food was excellent with generous portions. Comfortable room and a proper bathroom. Good local knowledge of where to go and further afield, Hope to visit again hopefully with better weather, all in all an enjoyable few days away

Had a lovely lunch here. My husband had the steak, which he said was one of the best he's eaten(and he's eaten lots!) I had the Chicken melt which was lovely. We had the lemon roulade(yummy) and I can't remember what my husband had but he liked it! The menu has changed from the one on the website(the one we... More

Great B&B ideally located if you want to enjoy hiking or cycling in the area. It's under new ownership as of mid-June so they are still finding their feet. Some things need improvement - rooms are a bit dated, but overall it's a lovely place and our hosts were very helpful and kind. Great pub food and great breakfasts, too.... More
