Came because we saw their flyer at a visitor’s center, and it fit in our drive from Skogafoss to the golden circle. I am glad we made the detour to find this little gem! We ordered the 3 course menu, 400g with trimmings, to share...More

On the drive back from Vik to the airport, we stopped to try the soup and langoustines. Considering we licked our plates clean, it was absolutely worth the stop. The soup really is magical - and it hit the spot on a cold, Iceland day....More

Our hotel in Klaustur (Hotel Klaustur) had far better langoustine. This restaurant is overrated. The langoustine were over cooked and some were hacked rather than gently cut. We enjoyed them so much the past two days that we were really looking forward to this highly...More

First a word to the wise. Not cheap. Even though it's worth every penny. We both had the Lobster Bisque starter and silence across our table says it all. Just got layer upon layer of flavours hitting our taste buds for six. A seemingly endless...More

Wow, this place is amazing. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. The food was out of this world. Our party of nine people all had the set three course menu and we were not disappointed. If you like seafood, this is the place to...More

They say they are langoustines but I'd prefer to call them Icelandic lobsters. If you like crustacean food, this is the place for you. The three course meal was one course to many for me, although I could have had the lobster soup over again....More

My husband and I got the 3 course meal (400 grams) for the equivalent of about $100. Two people should definitely split it. I think the price is on par with seafood places in the US, and the food was so amazing! The lobster has...More

The food in this restaurant was so delicious that we totally understand why a reservation is a necessity. The langoustine soup is so creamy and spicy that it warms you up inside after an hour spent at the nearby beach. The langoustine main course is...More

The restaurant is 45 minutes away from Reykjavik, but it's definitely worth the drive. We came here for lunch and we ordered the three course menu for two people and the portion was huge. Service and food was great. I absolutely recommend this restaurant for...More

At the suggestion of a local B&B, we made reservations for a night during our stay. Had the 3 course dinner, starting with the special soup, and then a generous plate of tasty langoustine, finished with dessert. A great meal in a scenic oceanfront setting....More

At the seashore the giant langoustine makes appointments with mermaids and landlubbers. He waves his large claws, attracting the desire to be in the company of starfish and lumpfish. The village´s corrugated iron houses, located just above its harbour, smack of ocean fragrance and seahorses. The soup is magical. It is suitable for numerous occasions and happy moments on ordinary days, but Fjöruborðið takes no responsibility for consequences or stirring adventures that could result from ingesting it. It has a will of its own and, as such, it is risky for those who don't want to venture beyond the average. This is the most famous langoustine soup in the Republic of Iceland, prepared by handsome cooks who step naked out of the ocean at Stokkseyri with their catch.
