The Staff were extremely friendly and the food and beer were excellent. The steak pie was one of the best we have had. Full of meat tender and no fat. The Young Lady behind the bar was very friendly and even brought across a water bowl for our dog.

I was out for a walk in the area and met 'Sid' along the way. I mentioned I was going to stop for lunch in Calver and he said that for good food and beer he would recommend the Derwentwater Arms. He wasn't wrong. Thanks for the directions Sid and thanks for a pleasant lunch time break Sarah.

We stayed in the cottage next to the pub. The accommodation is first class, spacious, well-equipped and dog friendly (as is the pub). Great location, great food in the pub/restaurant and really helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. General store and coffee shop within easy walking distance. We will definitely be back.

Holidaying in The Peak District in February and chose this pub as a meeting point with friends also travelling. Plenty of easy parking, homely and comfortable atmosphere. Attentive, relaxed service, very dog friendly. Great food at a very reasonable price, would definitely visit again and recommend to like minded visitors in this beautiful part of the country
