No atmosphere. Food very poor and barely warm. Broccoli almost raw, French beans tough, beef overcooked and tough. Starters mediocre. Service off hand and lacking in warmth. A big disappointment as we had taken young Australian friends who are spending the summer here.

3 of us managed to get in here just for a drink and unfortunately never managed to return for a meal - a pity because we saw others really enjoying theirs! Great and friendly place, staff and customers alike.

We booked in to eat at the wheatsheaf inn with a large hen party. Staff couldn't do more to help and the food was great!

Sunday lunch was a disappointment, carrots were under cooked, sweed was separate and tasteless, beef was chewy and under cooked, Yorkshire puddings were over cooked. Needed more gravy and less red cabbage. The service managed to pull this place round, nice open fire

Called into this pub in the village not far from the local gin distillery. It was very quiet so we were a little concerned but it was early in the evening. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Straight forward menu with something for everyone's taste. The...More
