Warm welcoming and personal, but not intrusive. Great menu and wonderful food would definitely go back.

We booked this restaurant because of a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed !! I think there are only 22 covers each night so you have to book well in advance and the menu only covers 4 starters and 4 mains,I presume so the chef can concentrate on every dish? But wow it is worth it, the... More
This was our second visit since moving to the area and we had no trouble getting a table on a Thursday night. The restaurant was was lovely and warm, as was the welcome when we arrived. My home cured salmon starter was exceptional and the flavour was fabulous. My partners mushroom risotto with goats cheese was also recommended. For main... More
As others have commented, it is essential to book as the dining area is small with few tables. On entering we were greeted by a glowing open fire, in the winter! There were some regulars stood at the bar who were friendly. Claire the front of house co-owner is bubbly and friendly. The food is excellent and Alistair, chef and... More
We dined here for our annual family gathering. The welcoming by staff and was great, we enjoyed a drink and a couple of small horderves by the fire when we arrived, then we were then shown to our table. The menu was quite pricey but a nice selection of dishes. As it was a treat we didn't mind but when... More
We love this place! We've eaten there several times and have never had anything short of an amazing meal. It remains our favourite place to eat whenever we are visiting the area - although you'll need to book some weeks in advance! The experience starts from the second you walk in the door, with complimentary snacks (all home made) and... More
This restaurant was recommended to us personally, and after reading reviews on the internet, we had high expectations. Travelling through the village at night, it was not easy to spot the 'Oak Tree Inn' sign, but after driving past the restaurant once, we managed to find it. The staff were very welcoming - genuinely friendly rather than over the top.... More
Words fail me yet again! What amazing food, superb wine, fantastic service and all round fabulous experience! Went with family for our anniversary and all seven of us could not stop talking about how amazing the food was. I've eaten in some very good restaurants but the oak tree tops the list. Well done you all the team for maintaining... More
Reservation needed. This is our favorite restaurant in this area and sometimes we have not been able to get in. Small intimate dining area with pub seating in the front. Claire and Alistair provide personal service and outstanding food from a seasonal menu that is always changing. There is a good wine list, usually with "specials " on the board... More
We had a delicious meal--one vegetarian--courgette and goat's cheese tart and one lamb preceded by homemade breads and humous--no fuss yet excellent service. Can't speak highly enough about this food and service.
Hi I'm coeliac. Do you have gluten free options on your menu.
We're visiting the area this week and would like to pop in for a meal.
Re lack of a single vegetarian dish on the sample menu - why? Why no wine list on web site - surely it's part of the enjoyment experience?
