It's not often that a restaurant ticks all the boxes, however Mimosa has achieved it.
Their dining areas are beautifully decorated with cosy nooks and soft lighting. Their patio & garden are also a perfect setting for your dining experience.
Their menu is Tapas inspired with some creative Asian and other cuisine infusions. We ordered 7 different dishes, each one presented impeccably and all were delicious.
Our Portugese server Elder was very friendly, efficient & attentive. He's a great ambassador for Mimosa's business.
I would encourage the owners to have one or two draft beers available, perhaps one Spanish brand.
We look forward to enjoying Mimosa again very soon.

This is not the first time I've been here, its my partners favourite place we, its a busy place, unfortunately you can't book a table, we had a little wait in the bar adnoff we went to the main restaurant for the food, that sell Heinekin Zero which is great, we ordered four dishes between us, Sweet potatoes, Duck, beef, and ribs, delis is the only way to describe it its a buzzy place and the turnover o tables is reasonably quick which is good as your not waiting a long time for a table, as before food is excellent, don't go in starving as you'll come out hungry ! if you were to ask me I'de say three dishes per person and you'd be fine, all in all a wonderful experience its not cheap, two G&T's and two Heinekin Zero's and two dishes each was the bones of €80.00. . . . .

We went back to Mimosa early July shortly after they re-opened & weren't disappointed. The food & service was amazing as always. Love the setting too with soft lighting & private tables with lots of space. Some of the highlights were the caramelized goats cheese, Miso glazed chicken, garlic prawns & baked Alaska (see pics). Also loved the cocktails! Felt very safe there in relation to COVID - all protocols being followed. Bonus in these times is they are now taking bookings for < 6 people : )
Highly recommend & will be back.

We had our anniversary dinner here and we were not disappointed. We were looked after extremely well and all credit to the team for working under the covid pressure. Hygiene and customer safety was paramount. The food is OUTSTANDING and the portions were very generous. We were recommended the paella balls by a friend and they were delicious! The pork belly was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. We ordered the lemonsecco and to our surprise, we were given a shot of homemade limoncello to go with it. YUM! The whole experience, from the decor, ordering, the quality of food and paying the bill was faultless. A fantastic restaurant that we will most definitely be travelling back to again and again.

I was carried back to the car on a makeshift stretcher by my mother and girlfriend after my meal, who were both very unimpressed with my inability to walk or stand, but adored the exquisite food and drinks Mimosa produced, and the exceptional customer service, with Ruth being a particularly impressive and downright delightful representative of Mimosa (superstar).
The beef cheek bomba croquettes, cod baja tacos, beef strips, miso chicken and beef nachos were especially memorable. The passionfruit mocktail and whiskey sour cocktail also hit the spot.
It was my mother’s first time visiting Mimosa and I couldn’t wait to see her reaction. She was mesmerised by the flavours of each dish, and has already decided to bring her friends there.
I especially enjoyed sending pictures of the food to my brother and making him jealous to the point of anger. Highlight of the night.
A genuinely perfect visit in a perfect spot. 10/10

My girlfriend booked Mimosa to celebrate the end of a work project and 11 weeks of commuting in mind numbing traffic. By booking Mimosa, an hour and 20 minutes of a return commute.
And it was worth every second in the car.
If you had told me a year ago that my favourite course in Mimosa would be bread and butter, I’d have laughed at you. Then I tried the butter board; it is now my death row meal. I genuinely contemplated getting a second one and one week later, I still regret not doing so. </3
The miso chicken, beef strips and churros were all top notch too. The staff are exceptional; so on the ball and friendly.
A massive thank you to Catriona and team for a wonderful evening yet again. 10/10 as per usual.

We were staying in Carlow in September passed and we were so dissapointed with the catering in house that we decided to search local eateries in Carlow. We were so glad we did, from the time we stepped foot in this small, character filled tapas bar, we were in awe. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and we had a great time relaxing with good food, good wine and great people. We cannot wait to visit again. This place is a gem! Well done to the owners and staff, they really do take care of you from the minute you arrive.

This was my fifth trip to Mimosa and every visit the service, food and ambience service have been 5 stars.
The staff are always very welcoming and attentive, the menu is creative, varied, reasonably priced, and most of all, super tasty.
It also has the added advantage of having lots of different areas to eat in both inside and outside.
Katrina and her team do a wonderful job, this place is a true gem!!

First time visiting Mimosa, it came highly recommended by many friends and colleagues.
We had once of the best tables, close to the radiator tucked away in a nice corner.
We ordered 5 tapas between us, a desert, cheeseboard and bottle of wine.
Lovely evening.

Delighted to get a table here before the Covid restrictions closed it again. The ambience was lovely, staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We shared a starter and dessert and picked 3 tapas each. My highlights were the sizzling garlic king prawns and the baked alaska dessert - compliments to the chef. A fabulous meal - I'll definitely be back when you're open again. Thank you.

An incredible meal! We were seated at a tiny table in the front of the restaurant, but asked to move and we then relocated further in, where there is much more atmosphere and buzz about the place! Our waiter- Helder - was outstanding. Informative, attentive, and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious! I had been snooping at the online menu several times in the lead up to today, and the real life experience did not disappoint! Can thoroughly recommend!

We had a lovely dinner in Mimosa. We were made feel very welcome by our waitress Ruth who was so bubbly and friendly! We had an allergy at our table and she made sure that they got taken care of. She was also funny and we had a laugh with her :)
Our food was unreal! We had the fish tacos, duck breast, sweet potato fries, beef sliders, goats cheese and the ‘hot mess’ for dessert which were all mouthwatering! We drank the esk valley wine and strawberry daiquiris which were also really nice. Would def recommend eating here! You won’t be disappointed with the food, drinks and service. We’ll be back again soon!

We cannot speak highly enough of this establishment - everything was excellent. The Irish people have a way of showing that they enjoy giving good service to customers and make customers feel welcome and all the staff at the Mimosa excelled in providing a first class service. As it was our first time visiting the restaurant, we asked for advice from the waitress and she was magnificent and more to the point, totally accurate in her suggestions as to what quantity of food we needed to order. The food was superb and we had a very enjoyable meal. Everything was "spot-on". Well done

Great food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. Visited with friends, who haven’t been here before and they were very impressed. What a wonderful feeling you get the moment you enter these premises, the ambiance is second to none. The food was just outstanding, so much to choose from, and every time we go there is some new mouth watering on the menu. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful throughout. Looking forward to our next visit already! Well done to all!

What a find! My friend booked a table outside for us at 6pm. Fabulous garden with chirping birds, beautiful shrubery and decor. For me though the star of the show was the food and the staff. Ruth was fantastic. Nothing was a problem. We both started with cocktails and butter board with brue which was oresented beautifully. Then had both the short rib and fish tacos, chicken miso and patatas bravas with shredded parmesan with a bittle of kiwi sauvignon. Then espresso Martini, hazlenut & Tirimisiu cheesecake and cheeseboard. Every bite delicious. The atmosphere was friendly with a great buzz. We even had an opera at the end by another guest. Cant praise it enough. Will be back
