Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Called in on the off chance today for Sunday lunch. Lovely smiley faces welcomed us. After ordering our drinks, smooth Shiraz and a belvoir ginger, we were shown to a table for two. We were given plenty of time to read the Specials Board and...check the menu. Our young waitress who has only been here a few months, looked after us very well (good training) and both our meals were very tasty……vegetarian nut roast and gammon, pineapple, egg and chips…my husband said they were the best chips he’s eaten for a long time….stayed really hot until end of his meal. My quinoa, squash nut roast was truly delicious. Well done chef. Good choice of puddings and a steaming mug of ground coffee. No supper for us tonight! Although busy it was not noisy and there is plenty of space between tables. A good mix of diners from grandparents to youngsters …. great ambience.More

We had booked a table in bar area as we had our dog with us, others were on our reserved table when we arrived a bit early so we sat elsewhere, they left in time for us to sit there for our alloted time but...then others sat there before we could get sitted. The problem we had was that the bar staff knew we had arrived but they did nothing to stop second lot of people sitting there. So the staff and second group felt it OK to ignore a reserved sign and two sets of cutlery on the table. This gave us very low confidence that we would even get our meals when ordered as the staff were clearly unable to consider us in any way - surely if a table is reserved they should have advised other customers not to sit there and of course let us know that our table was ready. As this was clearly not the case we simply finished our drinks and left the pub. I feel that better training in customer services and awareness of their responsibilities other then just serving drinks, would be beneficial to the staff at this establishment. We understand that if you have a dog with you then dining in bar areas is often the norm but customers with dogs should be treated in an equal standard as any other dining customer. I hope the owners of this establishment think on and ensure staff are trained properly in future.More

visited the Woodborough on Wednesday.- have been several times over the years but this time the presentation of the food seemed much better. My partner had a large beef burger and I had a beef and red wine stew which was absolutely delicious. The service...was very good. Good restaurants seem to be hard to find at the moment - the best one i have been to recently is the Hartnoll hotel near Tiverton absolutely superb - great for a special occasion as expensive.More

Live locally so I know there is a lot of competition around Thatchers, Bath Arms, Gardeners Arms etc. however Woodborough is more competitively priced and they don’t charge extra for cauliflower cheese!!! Great Sunday lunch…food really tasty and well cooked…will be returning again very soon....Minor point was a 10 plus minute wait for a drinks order to be takenMore

Haven't visited this Inn in a very long time even though it's in the next village. I visited it too meet my friends ( ex colleagues) for breakfast . Wow, one of the best breakfasts I've eaten in a long time. The inn is lovely...and the staff are friendly and professional. The service was great. Definitely a new favourite. I believe a lady called Shirley had cooked the breakfast, thank you, I'll definitely be back. A shout out to Tracey who served us and made our visit fabulous. Thank you ladies. An amazing find.More

Woodborough Inn were very accommodating to our group for a lunch meeting. They gave us a secluded and private corner, didn't bother us as we finished our meal and went into a 2 hour meeting. Food, drinks, atmosphere, and staff were great.

You need to book on Tuesday evenings at this popular local pub bacuase their local competitors are closed! The pub is large and has ample outside seating. The staff are tremendously friendly and the food very plentiful. We enjoyed the whitebait served on a wooden...platter and the courgette and spinach fritters. The sea bass special was exceptional and the large scampi and chips proved a knock out - no room for desserts! A lovely place to go - lots of laughter - the local choir arrived after practice. A slice of Somerset.More

Booked a table online as had never been here before. Arrived earlier than planned and the lady who greeted us was great about changing our time rather than having to wait for over an hour. Lovely clean restaurant and nicely decorated. Good choice of dishes...and specials. I had chicken linguine, partner had a steak. It was delicious. Had puddings after and the lemon posset was wonderful. Would recommend this place as we really enjoyed our food.More

Would give 6 stars if could! Nicely priced room, amazing service, amazing and friendly staff. Meals are fantastic! Requested cans of Darkfruits in room with thatchers gold labels on them as a joke bday gift for the partner and this was done perfectly. If you...are planning to do the thatchers tour (or just need a nice place to stay over), I cannot fault this place for your stay! Can see us coming back if we can drag others for the tour and or another trip down south. Thanks again for the great hospitality!!More

Lovely homely room, which was serviced daily. Huge fluffy bath towels, warm room with all facilities you could need. Thick curtains that fitted properly and blocked out all light. Breakfast was included-very attentive waitresses. Bottomless coffee . We ate in the restaurant at night and...food was gorgeous-all freshly cooked on lovely rustic crockery. Such a great place . I will return!More

The food offering has improved a lot over the last 6 months. The last three times we’ve been, we’ve had really tasty meals. It’s also great dogs are now allowed in the bar area.
