Great snapper and gurnard, love the kumara (sweet potato) fries but the regular fries were also good. When in NZ, always have to eat here at least once. If weather permits, take your food 100 meters down the road to the picnic area on the water.

My wife and I often come here when we are in the area, and I come just for the fish and chips when I go out on the motorbike. We stayed at Miranda holiday park this weekend, so had the fish and chips for our Saturday meal. As usual, they did not disappoint. A good portion with fresh battered fish.

Went in the summer when it was very busy good portions of food, nice areas to sit on beach front views. Fish was lovely and fresh.

All the usual things available here, burgers, fritters, sea dogs and toasted sandwiches but the real thing here is the fish. Fresh is the best and this place is across the road from the ocean. If it is fresh is isn't on the menu. We had a choice of Hoki, Gurnard, Snapper or Terakihi. Tried both the snapper and the... More

Three of us stopped here for fish and chips on a Sunday on our way back from a weekend in the Coromandel. There was no queue and a wide range of fish were on offer. We opted for snapper. The fish when it arrived was very good indeed. The batter was light, fresh and very tasty. Chips were also tasty... More

Quite a long drive and it was good to stop here. A bit basic and rough but decent fish (snapper and gurnard) and really good chips at a decent price. Happy to stop here again if passing

GRrwat place to stop for fish and chips. Never drive past! Hard to get a park at times, especially if towing a boat or caravan.

I'd heard of the famous Kaiaua Fish & Chip shop but never been there. Until January this year that is. Kaiaua is on the coast road between Kawakawa Bay and Miranda on the Firth of Thames. This is a great drive and knowing that we were stopping at the Kaiaua Fish & Chip shop made it all the more exciting.... More
