Small intimate friendly superb quality food restaurant something you would not expect in a small Cornish Village. We had the most delicious starters of Cornish Crab and a Duck Terrine followed by a Fish Stew with lots of nice Seafood and the other meal was the Lamb succulent and so well presented. All the food and service was excellent and... More

Yummy food, lovely ambiance and super service, we booked this restaurant off the back of trip adviser when we were looking for restaurants in the area for the Padstow Christmas festival and were not disappointed! The mushroom starter was gorgeous!

Forget Padstow dominated by Rick Stein and go to The Olive Tree in St Merryn. Every course was delicious and used local ingredients. Even the drinks menu had great Cornish wine and gin. And the service was friendly and genuine.

Whilst staying a stone's throw away in Waves Rooms for four nights, we wondered in and were fortunate enough to get a table. We went the whole hog and enjoyed three sumptuous courses - I have to say also, that the service was welcoming and friendly throughout. We genuinely had a better experience here, than down the road at Steins... More

My wife and I were very impressed this evening with this small but thoughtfully presented restaurant . When we walked through the door we were immediately greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. The effective decor of the restaurant was in keeping with the theme of the Mediterranean whilst subtly incorporating its coastal location with simple, dramatic marine prints.... More

After going to Steins on numerous occasions we decided to try The Olive Tree for a change and we were not disappointed. The moment we walked in, you could feel the place had a really nice atmosphere and a buzz to it. The restaurant was fully booked for the evening, a Thursday, which is always a great sign. The service... More

We booked in advance, as you really need to do at this time of the year. We were greeted warmly and it was soon evident that customer service is a priority at the Olive Tree. The food was excellent - innovative and beautifully presented. It's not a restaurant where you can have a secluded booth for an intimate evening -... More

Description
The Olive Tree in St Merryn opens for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday from 6.30pm). Our food is largely influenced by Mediterranean cuisine and, indeed, anywhere you might find olive trees growing. We focus on making the most of the wonderful fresh produce available in Cornwall, and we source our fish, meat, dairy and most of our fruit & vegetables from local producers. Reservations are recommended, and please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. Please note that the restaurant will be closed for the 2015 winter break from November, reopening in March 2016. .
