My wife and I went here as we were guests in the hotel. We had a lovely window table looking out over the mudflats. Staff were friendly and quick - amazing considering how full the place was. The food was very good. We both had...the menu - my wife has oysters to start - very fresh. I had the chicken pate which had excellent flavour and went well with the bread. For main I had the pre sale lamb which was amazing - so tender. Best lamb I have had. My wife had the mussels and fries which were also very good. Desserts were a bit disappointing - the warm Camembert was cheese on toast and my wife’s chocolate cake wasn’t great but the first 2 courses more than made up for it. Wine was also good and reasonably priced. Definitely recommendMore

The staff is rude; they serve you as in a canteen; they throw the plates on the table and they rush to get on with it! The food is passa le but the pricea are steep! The worst was when we chose 2 glasses of...wine, and they did ‘t even bother to pour it in front of us. They brought the glasses already full from the kitchen and stuck them on the table medieval styleMore

The restaurant has a lovely view of the bay as well as an elegant atmosphere. We enjoyed the Du Gueslin set menu, which was tasty and timely (surprisingly fast service considering they were completely full). The cod was great, and the lamb was perfectly cooked....The famous Mont St Michel omelet was light as a feather. Both desserts were outstanding. TomMore

We thought we would give this a try based on some of the reviews. Unfortunately whilst the view was lovely the food was not. I had the vegetable soup which was inedible served with stale bread. My husband had oysters (these were ok) followed by...chicken in a cider sauce that we assume came out of a packet. The frites (chips) had been cooked several hours earlier and were totally unappetizing. My 7yo son did enjoy the moules but again the chips were terrible. Our drinks didn’t arrive until after the food and we asked for them, and my husbands plate and mine were cleared while our son was still eating. I can’t recommend this restaurant however the toilets were very clean.More

Something to note when visiting Mont Saint Michel - there aren't many options for lunch. Just a handful of restaurants along the grand rue. As we were looking for a place to eat this place was the only one that seemed to have some open...tables. We waited about 10 minutes and we were able to sit. The food (just like most of the food on the island) is mediocre at best. Don't expect the best meal of your life when coming to Mont Saint Michel. That being said, the food also isn't bad... after spending all morning touring around the village you just need something to fill your stomach. The waitstaff here was very friendly and we had very average meals. Nothing bad but nothing to rave about.More

Most websites and guidebooks warn visitors that it's difficult to find a good meal on Mont-Saint-Michel. A dinner at the Hotel Restaurant Guesclin is an exception. My wife and I ate there on a crystal clear evening so that we could enjoy the expansive view...of the bay. We both ordered the Menu Guesclin at the reasonable price of 38 euros for a three-course meal. The dishes offered us a wide choice of Normandy specialties, including a MSM omelette, pre-sale leg of lamb, local fishes in beurre blanc sauce, and apple-calvados cake. All of the dishes were tasty and beautifully presented. The wine.,a bottle of Macon Villages, was a bargain at its price. Anyone staying the night at Mont-Saint-Michel should consider eating at Du Guesclin but be sure to make a reservation ahead of time.More

The lamb was cold, price was okay, The older waiter (possibly manager) clearly has an issue with the English. So rude and abrupt. The younger waiter was okay. There were flies all over the bread and there was no fresh bread between tables. Every table...had the leftovers from another table Would not recommend at all. The worst restaurants on the island.More

The view was spectacular. The food was good, and I think we ate every bite. It was busy summertime, so the staff was a bit harried, and always nice, just a little stretched thin. I would say overall it was a good value and I’m...glad I had a reservation to sit by the windows!More

Excellent food in a beautiful setting. Staff was efficient and helpful. I called a couple of weeks in advance from the US to make the reservation. Prices were very reasonable for location, setting, and quality of the food.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a dinner at Le Duguesclin. We had reserved a table and we were seated as soon as we got there. The view was gorgeous because if you reserve a table, you get seated with a water view and we were...eating as the tide came in. We got the fixed menu. I got the cider mussels, lamb and crème brûlée. The food was very good, except for the mussels, which weren't very flavorful. I would recommend a different sauce.More

After a two hour tour we were keen on having a good lunch but were disappointed. The place is fine, the staff was nice to us but the food was pretty average and expensive. The oysters were okay I guess, but quite skinny. Mussels were...lacking flavor, there was no onions nor thyme or any herb in the broth. The French fries were soft and oily and really tasty. A very expensive bill for some poor quality meal.More

(Ce n'est pas vrai qu'on mange mal au Mont-St-Michel - Je vais switcher en Anglais pour une plus grande audience). It is not true that one eats badly in Mont-St-Michel. This place had fantastic seafood and amazing lamb chops. Don't be fooled by the lamb...chops "so-so" look on the plate; the taste is heavenly, and that's what counts. Get a nice bottle of cider with it, et voila!More

My wife, along with two friends, and I enjoyed a very special dinner at Le Duguesclin. We had reserved a table and we were seated as soon as we got there. Our waitress was attentive but no overbearing. The wine selections were very good and...our food was excellent. We stayed on the island for two evenings and had made window reservations for a sea view. Our table was perfect ! White table clothes and a gorgeous view ! Our meal was absolutely divine and everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. We drank wine and...enjoyed our evening very much without feeling rushed even though they were very busy. Our service was very friendly and accomidating. We didn't stay at this hotel, but after being treated so well, I wish we would have. I would absolutely recommend this dining experience.
