Having read reviews of other places on the Mount we were afraid that if we went out for dinner we would either have poor quality food or get royally ripped off. The Hotel Du Guesclin maintains very night standards at reasonable prices, Beware however as this place gives priority to residents of the hotel and bookings so if you want dinner you should either come at 6:30 or book. We were greeted by a really pleasant host. Extremely welcoming and friendly. We were seated very quickly and given our menus. The beauty of this restaurant is that you can either buy a set meal, which was quite reasonable or order or a la carte. We both chose a set meal for 25 Euros. My wife had vegetable soup, a diving chicken in cider sauce and a Breton cake for dessert. I had pate followed. By local lamb cooked to perfection and an apple tarts. The service was excellent and there was a beautiful view of the the mud flats. The bill with wine for both of us came to about 70 euros but the food was excellent as was the service and it was well worth it. We might have paid less at other places but there was not way the food and service would have been as good

After a two hour tour we were keen on having a good lunch but were disappointed. The place is fine, the staff was nice to us but the food was pretty average and expensive. The oysters were okay I guess, but quite skinny. Mussels were lacking flavor, there was no onions nor thyme or any herb in the broth. The French fries were soft and oily and really tasty. A very expensive bill for some poor quality meal.

Nice experience especially for the excellent quality/price ratio. Tackling meals at a reasonable price without sacrificing quality is not easy in Mont St. Michel. I consider this to be one of the few restaurants where this is possible. The 'card' also offers some combined menus: the one at 26.50 euros (Menu Montois) has a wide choice of dishes and is quite complex (three courses) allowing you to eat and try some local specialties at the same time. I opt for moscioli alla marinara (tasty), the typical omelette (presumably similar to the most famous in the country but at a decidedly more humane cost) served with fried potatoes and salad; and finally hot camembert. Since the bottle of natural spring water is free and I don't take wine or other drinks, my expense in the end is exactly that of the menu, 26.50 euros, without any supplement. The environment is elegant but without excess, pleasant, characteristic, and the service is very kind and accurate. The restaurant, which is also a hotel, is positioned on two levels and with two entrances: one from the main street of the town, the other from the ramparts overlooking the bay. I suggest entering from the ramparts, thus entering directly into the main room, welcoming and bright. If you haven't been able to reserve, go early, right when it opens, otherwise you risk not finding a place.

We thought we would give this a try based on some of the reviews. Unfortunately whilst the view was lovely the food was not. I had the vegetable soup which was inedible served with stale bread. My husband had oysters (these were ok) followed by chicken in a cider sauce that we assume came out of a packet. The frites (chips) had been cooked several hours earlier and were totally unappetizing. My 7yo son did enjoy the moules but again the chips were terrible. Our drinks didn’t arrive until after the food and we asked for them, and my husbands plate and mine were cleared while our son was still eating. I can’t recommend this restaurant however the toilets were very clean.

Sadly we have to agree with previous reviews. Having had a wonderful time in Mont St Michel, we were tired and hungry and glad to see empty tables and a reasonable sounding menu. My salad was good, but the others had a variety of dishes, served with chips. these chips were completely overdone and vile tasting. When some chips were served at another table, they were conventional golden looking ones. We reckoned that the stupid English had been fobbed off with chips that had been cooked before and reheated in none-too-fresh oil.

The lamb was cold, price was okay, The older waiter (possibly manager) clearly has an issue with the English. So rude and abrupt. The younger waiter was okay. There were flies all over the bread and there was no fresh bread between tables. Every table had the leftovers from another table Would not recommend at all. The worst restaurants on the island.

My wife and I tried out this restsurant as this was the only one not full for lunch and now we understand why. We were terribly disappointed with the inefficient service and the rude and crude xenophobe who was the only person taking food orders. After taking orders from a neighboring table we attempted to ask him if he could take ours as well but before we could even complete our request he barked at us saying there were other people before us and arrogantly said this was how it is done in France. We were taken aback by the tone and uncalled for remark so instead of stooping down to his level we decided we deserved better and stood up to leave . This insecure garcon continued to heckle us on our way out asking us loudly if we were from China. No we are not from China but why does that even matter? Such an insecure miseducated person has no place in the hospitality/restaurant sector and gives Mont St Michel tourism a black eye.

The restaurant was full so we waited for about 20 minutes to get a table. Once seated, a table behind us (much better placed, facing the window and the panorama) became available. So we asked the room manager if we could possibly take this table instead. He told us that it was possible but that we would have to wait until it was cleared: No problem, we waited about 20 more minutes (during which no one came to take our order). A waitress took care of this table, a couple arrived through another front door and they were directly offered to sit there: We therefore, after 40 minutes of waiting in total, saw our table for which we were waiting to be taken by a couple who did not wait a single second. We had excuses but ultimately had to stay where we were. The meal went well, but the mussels were not very hot and we had to ask for coffee several times, which had been forgotten. The bill was sent to us several times too, with errors to correct. To conclude, the place is nice but the team perhaps lacks a little organization. The card is not that bad and the prices offered are, however, quite fair.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a dinner at Le Duguesclin. We had reserved a table and we were seated as soon as we got there. The view was gorgeous because if you reserve a table, you get seated with a water view and we were eating as the tide came in. We got the fixed menu. I got the cider mussels, lamb and crème brûlée. The food was very good, except for the mussels, which weren't very flavorful. I would recommend a different sauce.

My family of ten had a wonderful experience at the Hotel du Guesclin restaurant. They are a delightful staff. The food was great and the meal could not have been better. Every member of the restaurants staff was kind and friendly. They were patient with our questions and worked hard to explain their menu and suggest the appropriate wine to compliment the meal we ordered. We asked that the staff take a picture with us, they all sat down and we all gathered around them. They made our last meal on the Mont a very special evening. If we ever return to the Mont, we will not be going anywhere else for our eats!!!

Friendly welcome. Very pleasant room upstairs. We enjoyed the rack of lamb from the salt meadows, which was presented to us at the table, whole, before being cut and served. Cooked to perfection, just pink. The fresh vegetables, as an accompaniment, were excellent and very well cooked. You actually have to come early (after 11:30 a.m.) to get a place. But if we know it, we organize ourselves. a downside for the seats of the chairs, which are very soft, and which deserve to be renovated. We will return with great pleasure during our next stay at Mont Saint Michel.

A very pleasant restaurant on Mont Saint Michel, where you eat in a dining room overlooking the bay. Beyond the setting, quality and copious cuisine. Leg or ribs of lamb served generously, with fresh and varied accompaniments. It is an excellent address in the midst of the proliferating tourist traps. Pleasant and efficient service.

We had lunch on the ground floor (brewery side) with the family, tasting the mussels, burger and omelette accompanied by fries. The formula is not too expensive (and fortunately). The burger, for 15 euros, is way too expensive for what it is, however. The worst mussels and fries I have ever tasted. The service remains efficient.

Magnificent dining room with a view of the bay. Do not hesitate to be seated by 6:30 p.m. because there will be no more places at 6:35 p.m. No reservations possible. Hearty and very good quality meal!!! Special note for the lamb from the salt meadow!! A smiling welcome from the dining room staff, a big thank you to Marie T. for her joie de vivre, her professionalism and her smile with each dish. The restaurant is very lucky to have him. Bravo for its Irish Coffee.

Beautiful setting, with a beautiful sea view. Efficient and fast service. Good value for money. We took the menu offered at €27.50 and were not disappointed! But we had ordered a 1/2 l pitcher of rosé, and the waiter came to bring us 2 1/4 l pitchers, under the pretext that they no longer had a container for 1/2l. (However, I didn’t see many 1/2 liter containers on the tables around us…) No problem...in principle...except that when we added it we were charged for 2 1/4 l pitchers, an additional cost of a few euros! Of course, the difference in cost is not huge, but I had the unpleasant feeling of being tricked...which I find very unpleasant! As a result, we did not leave any tip, contrary to our usual practice...; considering that the tip was already included...and without our agreement! Damage!
