We stopped here for lunch after a walk over from Mont Dore. The location is great for watching the world go by with a generous outdoor seating area and spacious interior. The staff were friendly and unfussy. The waitress helpfully switched to English after I indicated in bad French we'd order at midnight rather than in a minute. The food... More

A busy restaurant that serves regional dishes. Quality is good and prices OK. The portions are large for a French restaurant.

At first sight it looked like a Mexican Restaurant in the middle of La Bourboule in Avergne, France but the menu was completely the opposite. Authentic French cuisine from this region can be savoured, I tried the La Truffade (Truffade is a dish traditionally associated with Auvergne in France. It is a sort of thick pancake made with thinly sliced... More

As apetizer we had some local ham (serving tip: do NOT cut off the fat!!). Main dish was the daily offer: entrecôte de Salers avec salade et tartuffe. The entrecôte was poorly baked. Too thin. No taste. My tartuffe was badly burned. When I told this to the owner (about my tartuffe), instead of apologizing she just said: "yes, well... More

Friendly staff, but the meal was very poor. We sat inside but there were flies buzzing round us the whole time. We ordered a starter which didn't arrive! I ordered Bavette, well done, which very tough and burned at the edge. I eat this meal very often in France as it usually comes covered in a beautiful shallot sauce. The... More

Went on a Sunday lunchtime in November. 7 of us with three boys under the age of 7. The weather was good so we could sit outside. The food was ok but it was the friendliness of the two young waitresses which made the lunch so easy for us all. No complaints about the steak n frites either or the... More

At first we were a little put off by the poor / unfriendly waiter, but as the children were hungry we decided to stay for lunch. Waiter refused to serve a crepe to our smallest son, "because it is not yet 16:00 PM", and the hamburger for our other son was almost completely raw. He ate half of the hamburger... More
