This little restaurant has the best sliced cured pig products that we have had in France. The menu has enough choices to make anyone happy. We have eaten here twice and both times were delighted with our choice. The cured hams are delicious. The cheese was melted and runny and made a perfect sauce to pour over the potatoes. There... Great for when you're fed up with fois gras.. See the owner there cutting super fine slices of wonderful tasty hams. Also open in Winter when few restaurants are not. Also fondues and ratatouilles. Recommend.

This was a great little find in January when most of the restaurants are closed for the off season. It specialists in ham, potatoes and cooked cheese. The menu has a selection of cold cuts with simple salad, boiled potatoes and a cooked cheese with various wine infusions. Quite frankly this is perfect for chilly winter days to warm the... More

Consistently good food, always happy and friendly staff and owner, correct prices. What more could you want. Small menu based on charcuterie and cheeses, my Mother in Law said it was the best Parma Ham she has ever eaten and couldn't wait to return.

The Dordonge region is know for Fois gras and very rich meals. We were very happy to find this wonderful little restaurant in the middle of the old village. We do not have large meals at night and prefer a lighter fare. We had the best ratatouille, ham and a salad. Just the right quantity of food. Highly recommend.

My loving partner Brian and I had a lovely dinner here on October 10. Chez offers sausage type meats with salads or frites, etc. different than the usual restaurant and we found it delicious. Cool evening so we sat inside where there are only 7 or 8 tables. I had raclette with my meat which was yummy and so was... More

I love traveling in France and I love the baguettes, the croissants, the cheese, the duck and the foie gras... I truly love those things but day-after day it wears on you. I've been wishing for something different and we finally found it tonight. Olivier slices the house cured ham to perfection. The service was excellent... and one more thing... More

We were looking for something a little bit different from the normal Sarlat menus and decided to visit Chez Le Gaulois to share one of their very generous plates of local hams, cheeses and charcuterie. We added some really nicely cooked potatoes and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. This is another small restaurant among many in the centre... More

Sat to eat 2 adults and 2 children. Adults both ordering but children not. 8 euro supplement for anyone say but not eating. Given the size of the plates they all seem to be sharing size.

Fabulous food all year round. Fresh, tasty and simple food served in a relaxed and laid back setting. Gorgeous owners who put their heart and soul into the food and it shows. Don't pass it, if there's a table free, grab it.
