I was in Sarlat to visit Lascaux, and just randomly picked this place wandering around just after dark. The meal started with an amuse bouche, if memory serves, of a shellfish mouse. We always go to the four seasons and are always amazed its not better rated. This time we had oeuf, cepes, smoked duck and foie gras - delicious. We lunched on the shaded upstairs terrace and had a real lunch to remember. The amuses-bouches are mouthwatering, and although the choice on the prix fixes menus is tight, there is nothing there I wouldn't choose - we had lamb shank as mains. We ate here for lunch recently. We chose a table inside as it was quite a hot day. The staff were helpful and pleasant despite our almost nonexistent French. The food was great. A highlight for me was definitely the melon and red wine soup. It was divine .

Ate in the restaurant upstairs and it was fantastic. Came across the restaurant by chance and it was a great find. The building itself is beautiful and very well restored. Went here years ago and had good meal. Went again this month and hardly anyone in the room. Very dark. Stools with no back support. We actually got up and left before menus came out

Being a vegetarian it is always challenging in France. During a brief three day stay in Sarlat, we were lucky enough to discover this place on day two! We had dinner there twice. They have a lovely internal patio. The daily menu changes as befits a restaurant of this quality. The vegetarian option was stunning both in presentation and taste.... More

We have eaten here twice now. Dont mix up the two places - the lower restaurant is maionly Tapas - same checf as the posher and higher up restaurant. Downstairs from the main restaurant. Soup, goose neck on toast, chorizo salad, egg and Perigord ham went beautifully with a vin du Cahors Caminade. The creme brulee rounded things off nicely. Easily our best meal in Sarlat. And good value too.

My husband and I loved this restaurant. After looking at menu after menu in the more touristy part of town we almost gave up as nothing really interested us.
