Had the lobster and risotto. I felt guilty that the lobster, for €200, was killed to be cooked like that and served alongside such empty sides - flavourless black rice and unseasoned veg. I am a seasoned traveler and have come around the world. Le Table de Sabine was extraordinary in that it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. It's a typical tourist trap that takes advantage of visitors during peak seasons. The allure is...its pleasant setting by the port, white table linen, and an initially friendly welcome. But once you're seated, the service becomes dreadful, with staff showing attitude and lacking English lange skills (as in zero). The food was subpar; we came for fish, but upon seeing it, we quickly opted for meat, which was barely edible. To top it all off, the prices were exorbitant. I felt embarrassed having chosen this place for my daughters and will be more discerning in my future restaurant choices. I'm writing this review as a warning to fellow travelers in Calvi: Please consider other dining options!More
Fresh local large fish….crab was yummy, steak also great! The service was perfect and wine lovely as well.
All was great, till we realized the salad for the starter cost 18€ each. Much more then expected. Skip that restaurant if you are on the port
We had hardly had time to sit down before the waitress suggested a local aperitif for the adults and a virgin alternative for the kids. We chose the €25 set menu which was good value but the overall experience was destroyed by waiting well over...an hour for the main course and then getting charged €14 for a the kids’ juice (after complaining reduced to €12), same price as the aperitif (restaurant next door serving drinks at €10).More
This is a non typical restaurant centrally located in the Calvi harbour. With view at the citadel and the yachts hosted in a luxury and trendy environment. Also the dishes are non customary and luxury presented. Means quality above quantity. Very good quality food. A...bit less speed between the starter and main course should be. Now the food was presented fast and if we would have hurried up we could have been ready in one hour. That is not how it should be in this type of restaurant. Also at the end the bill was presented before we asked. Not very guestfriendly. So some improvements for the serving staff to go for the full 5 dots.More
We chose to eat here on bastille day as the food looked nice and we would get a good view of the fireworks from the citadel. We were shown to our table fairly quickly but it seemed to take an age for anyone to come...over to take our drinks order. Once we finally ordered to took about an hour for our food to come out. The food was very nice but overpriced in my opinion. It’s a nice place to eat down at the marina.More
This restaurant serves high quality dishes based on local catch - but inspired and spiced well beyond average. Certain dishes are probably aiming too high - wanting to demonstrate a technique rather that focusing only on the essentials. Service is attentive and friendly - good...local wines.More
Very nice restaurant directly by the sea. Excellent fish freshly caught nearby. Particularly good Corsican wines to go with the dishes and a very attentive service.
The restaurant is situated in a wonderful location on the seafront of Calvi with views of the marina and the distant hills. The seating, linen and cutlery are first class. The first courses were fine and as it was a celebration meal we choose to...share a John Dory fish at 120 euros. Unfortunately, we were shown the fish when cooked and it looked fine. The was then a 15 to 20 minute delay it was served to us. The result was an overcooked and dry piece of fish accompanied by some overcooked saute potates. A fine looking fish ruined. The owner, Sabine, had disappeared by this time, so we left feeling very disappointed over a celebration meal which cost 239 euros.More
Truly I don't know why this place gets such good reviews. The food was rather leaden and flavourless, the service slow and, if you pass the kitchen porter's station on the way to the toilet, you may get the same sense as I did of...a place that is rather careless. The location is great, the fish soup excellent but, considering the price, our main courses were really rather lacklustre. There is much tastier food to be had in this town.More
We really had an amazing dinner at La table de Sabine! The fish was very fresh, the dishes were tasty and all the ingredients were of high quality. Clearly the setting was unique with the great views and the spot was the nicest one of...the port. The cuisine is healthy and sought-after. The service is good, all the waiters and the manager were very friendly and of good advice. It is traditionally up market compared to some of the more casual restaurants on the port, a reflection of the much higher quality. We tried a lot of restaurants in the port, and this one was our favourite!More
I was atracted by the nice tables but we were very dessapointed with the food. Everything it was tastless, no flavour at all, the service is not very good either and the prices are expensive. The place looks nice; I dont know if we had...bad luck but we will not recomend this restaurant at all. You can eat way better in most of the restaurants that are just near.More
We were advised to try this restaurant by a local shop keeper where my wife had purchased some swim wear. It is situated on the front of the port ,tables are close but white table cloths and good service. The menu was essentially seafood and...the waiters show a tray of available fish, We did not choose from this but from the menu which was in French and English. Our meal was very good and reasonably priced. The wine list was extensive, but we managed a nice bottle of rose at a reasonable price. We ate reasonably early at about 730 pm and this restaurant was filling up by the time we finished , while others nearby were almost empty A very pleasant venueMore
Nice view yes, good service but the fresh fish is very expensive. 104 euros! Also 7 euro for still water. Not worth it. Tasted only Ok. Alot better restaurants in area.
